Q:

.25 70 gr bullet

Having LBT make me a 4 cavity mold off this.

I made one on the lathe and it is 69.8 gr.

If it works good I will HP 2 cavities and will have 2 different size slugs for my .25 with a real .250″ barrel.

What do you think?

Interesting enough Doug, there is a new old stock Winchester mold on Ebay that is almost identical to that bullet, albeit a few thousands larger.

I sent the drawing today to him and the sample. I said I need you to make this as close as possible to the drawing and sample and if you can’t let me know. I did not send a check with it.

Right now he is recovering from 3rd degree burns on his hands. I guess he had a propane explosion and got burned on his hands pretty bad. I had a message from his wife last week that he had gotten hurt and finally got thru to them today. He can’t even talk on the phone.

I hope he gets well sooner than the month I was told.

He did a good job on the Lyman copy and all I did was send him a couple of bullets. I have to keep reminding him that what we are doing is not a air gun anymore. We are using air to shoot a bullet in a firearm barrel. I know he has his Airgun slugs but they don’t work at the speeds the REAL .257’s are shooting at.

I cut two simular bullets on my lathe in aluminum and sent them for Veral to go by and I could tell by our phone conversation that he was going to make the bullet he wanted to make vs the one I ask him to make.

His is a master at what he does, and his molds are beautiful, but making to specification well….
From what Ive gathered I think he has certain cutters that make a specific bullet styles and adding multiple drive bands and deep lube grooves (that airguns like) are an additional and seperate operation so to speak.

If you OVER EMPHASIZE the narrow drive bands and deep lube grooves you may get a bullet that really shoots.
That was a great job on the lyman copy he did for you. You had better hold on tight to that one 🙂

It is the spitzer.

Fill nipple is leaking? Something must be in it. I have never had one leak.

In the vid. he had two different bullets pictured. It was kinda confusing. Was it the flat point, or the spitzer?
Sent you a PM.

Fill nipple leaking bad. Going to pull in in a few minutes and see what’s up in it. 😕

The LBT’s I have are 76.4 I think. I know they are 76 something.

They work good. It’s the bullet Cedric shot that group on video at 160 yds

Got up a little early, 2:00 A.M. 😆 and just saw this. Those narrow driving bands look like a way to beat the friction in a bbl. I’ll bet they work just fine! Always wondered why Jerry didn’t do somthing about the nearly flat slug like apearance of the nose of his bullets. This looks like the best of both worlds. Now if you can just get LTB to make what you want.

He has a habbit of changing your designs, and making what everer the hell he wants. 👿 😆

What do the LTB’s you have for .257 weigh in at Doug?

No this is going to be a new bullet for my .25. The ones you have fit tight in my LW barrel also because it is set up for pellets.

The ones you have are my LBT .257 bullet sized to .25070″.

They work good in the TJ .25 barrel and .257.

I haven’t shot them in my LW .25 except thru the chrony.

Are these the same slugs, you sent me, that I did not try yet, cause I did not do a leed in, on my barrel yet, I think I have like 48 of them.

I don’t plan on selling bullets. I don’t have enough time to make guns and parts let alone cast bullet to sell

If it works good all you have to do is call Veral and he will make you one.

I will test them in a choked LW and my .25 TJ barrel.

I don’t think they will be big enough for a LW with no choke because they seem to slug in the .254″-.255″ area. But if you want it for one you could just have him make it .255″

If you do this Dyotat, you better be ready to sell them or do something so we can buy some, I want 20lbs. of them .

I’d like 100 of each ❗

If fact, put me in for an identicle mold if possible.
