Q:

Neil Clague Shroud

Just wanted to post a note and a few photos of my new Neil Clague air stripper. Neil has been making these 16 inches long for the Cricket but I asked him to make mine 15″ to fit a case I already own. Neil was hesitant to make the shroud shorter when I first contacted him a few months back, but has since made improvements to his baffles, and the 15 inch shroud works great. The hammer spring and pellet hitting the target is all I can hear.

Cheers,

Don

Dayum Hoot! Those Bugs that heavy? 😯

Ehhhhhh……you guys got someone in mind? Does she live close by?

One legged, legally blind and desperate! 😉 👿

Sent from my GT-8000

I heard that’s how you like your women too Hoot. Sir Ville also mention something about one legged if I recall correctly.

quote Hoot:

My Cricket .25 came in at 8.5lbs stripped of scope and bipod. The stock is heavy duty, and will take a severe beating before anything shows, but it is heavy….period.

Damn you must have some heavy iron cheeks!

No scratches yet…. just a broken cheek rest. The Walnut stock is beautiful! Glad I got it.

Hey Don that was me 🙂 I said I wouldn’t go synthetic based on members who have them and said it was awkward at the front grip, hard to shoot free hand and a bit heavier than the other versions. Are you scratching up your gun?

quote dwm:

Secoda – don’t have a decibel meter. The gun is just so much quieter. Amazing. As for the cheek piece… I think it was Donny that said he would buy a synthetic stock due to being clumsy… I should have gone synthetic:)

Mine is the standard .22 and went from 27 inches to 30.5…. I think…

Hi Donny,

I have the standard model. It’s 27 inches with the factory shroud and 32 inches with the NC shroud.

Gabe

Don and Gabe, are those Standard Crickets you guys have?

Very nice. I have one of his on a AA S510C. I would be curious as to the decibel drop is. Was it about $100? What happened to your cheek piece?

I think I would like the front cap anodized to match the barrel, etc. on the next one. I guess it matches the trigger but my wife says it clashes on colors. 🙄

Very nice.

Hey, that looks like mine 😉

Mine is 16 inches though. Neil is making me another shroud just like the one I have on my cricket except it will be a two piece unit. The shroud section will be 11 inches long including the threaded end piece and the extension will be 7 inches. When I don’t need absolute silence, the extension will stay off. When I need silence, the extension will be on.
