Q:

EdGun & Cricket Thigh Rest Adapter & Butt Plate

Working towards adapting the bullpup platform to field target competition.

On the EdGun I wanted to use my custom thigh rest so I made a butt plate spacer/adapter that will accept a butt hook on one end at a clamping unit for a thigh rest.

Here is the thigh rest (the white plastic part is the Gen I version).

Here is the plate adapter for the EdGun.

Here it is attached to the Ed…

So then I got to the Cricket and the stock butt pad isn’t reusable like the EdGun so I decided to make a super trick fully adjustable one similar to a MEC 3-position. It also allowed me to try out my dovetail but before I started cutting the new picatinny rail for the EdGun. The dovetail runs the length of the adapter plate and this thing is adjustable six ways to Sunday. The hook is removable so it fits in the Pelican case and still needs to have a joint added so it can wrap around the back of my shoulder.

I still need to make the adjustable stabilizer weight system that runs in the Anschutz rail I sunk into the forestock… I’m trying to get all this done for the Western Regional Field Target Championships this weekend.

😆

I’ll be shooting my USFT for the competition and go through each course after the match is over and try out the Cricket (two courses, one each day). The scope of this thing is a bit under wheeled for doing a really good job. I am ranked #1 so i’m trying to retain or build my lead for the next two AAFTA Grand Prix matches for this year.

2014 is going to be a full on assault of the field target circuit with a bullpup (EdGun and Cricket). The 2014 AAFTA season starts in October 2013 at the California State Championships.

The new scope rail blank for the EdGun came in this week so i’ll have that bullpup back in the mix as well. :8:

Oh and in case I didn’t mention it before, the Cricket butt pad is SHIT. The white piece of plastic is screwed and glued to the stock and then the rubber butt pad is glued to the plastic part. Whomever created that has never seen a real buttpad in their life, and if they did they decided to make the biggest piece of shit pain in the ass they could. 👿 😆

Good luck this weekend Syn! Bring home a trophy for the bullpup gang 🙂

Added the butt plate to the Cricket and set it up with everything but the stabilizer…

Fits REAL nice! 😈

I sure hope not… 😮

Gotta be competitive this weekend. 😀

It’s only 3:30 here. 😉

Up all night… 😆 😆 😆

Thanks guys. It’s all experimental and for fun.

Anodized black? I’d love to get it anodized, not sure I want to do that at home or have to finish out everything and have it set out. I sure would like to see it in black though… 😈

I’ll be attaching the butt plate to the Cricket later today, i’ll try to get a few photos up of everything in place tonight.
