If you hunt a lot definitely the Edgun.More power, lot easier carry.

Thanks Ted! Perhaps with any luck, He was Listening! 😉

quote knifemaker:

I love the AW, BUT— in .25 is just to anemic. They kept the maping for the .22 in the .25. 😕 Which keeps the velocity far too low and gives it a very loopy trajectory. Why they haven’t addressed this issue has puzzled many. 👿

Agree 100%!!! And, while in England I made a point of drilling this notion into the head of Tony Belas. Make the .25 50-60 ft/lbs (dual power like the .22 and .177), or don’t bother. In fact, when he asked me what is my favorite Daystate air rifle, I told him “it is the one you are not making”, and gave him the details re: what I would want out of the .25 Wolf.

So, if you see a higher power model, you know who to thank. 🙂

I can only speak of Edgun. The 25 long can push a JSB 25 grain easily at 1000 fps and maintain sub tennis ball groups at 120yds no problem in mild winds. MOA groups are there at this fps but occasional flyers open them up a bit.
880s to Low 900 fps is much better range and golf ball groups at 120 are norm.
These are groups off a bipod up front and shouldered in back not from a bench rest so the groups can be tighter if you reduce the shooters input.
Mine is set primarily at 885fps with a solid low 70s shot count on the reg.

Now I am wondering about the cricket if it will be as accurate i like its multi shot

You CAN NOT go wrong with either gun. They are both SUPER guns.
I sold off my .25 AW when the .22 Egdun came in early..big mistake, but strapped for money. Wish I could have kept them both.

Just kinda depends if you prefer the georgeous traditional looks of the AW or the stylish look and feel of a Bullpup.
I like to woods walk..the smaller size of the Edgun was why it stayed..not because it shot any better for me.

But to be honest, I did not give the AW a fair try..was shooting benji domes ..because its what I HAD.

Still , both great guns…you will be happy with either

Cute, old post..on the subject
