Custom EdGun Scope Rail **UPDATE 9/1**
The parts finally arrived. I will be doing some cutting from now through the weekend and hope to have this done relatively soon.
The images show the new taller rail from Evolution Gun Works and the other shorter rails from Ergo Grips. The new EdGun rail will be an inch or two longer and have a few extra slots at the back (no angle).
If anyone is interested in the black rail that is 0.4″ tall let me know, I might find a use for it but if you have one i’d be happy to sell it. They are 12″ long total. I bet they would make great bi-pod rails if added to the under side of an EdGun or Cricket stock… 😉

Good for you bro…now if you ever wanted to return the gun to stock all you’d need to do is just replace the original rail correct?…cause if like to try this project on my own matador…..oh and congrats on the 39/40….those are numbers to be proud of. :8:

Scored a 39/40 today in VAR air rifle silhouettes (benched) and a 28/40 Open class standing (I made a stabilizer weight that did wonders). The one shot I missed benched was due to me not clicking up for the 45 yard target.
Scope rail is perfect right to left (windage turret is centered) and just above mid range adjustment on the scope turrets up and down.
It’s shooting REALLY flat, 10 clicks at 20 yards, 0 clicks from 25 to 35 yards, 4 clicks at 40 and 9 clicks at 45. Flat is good for field target. I turned it down some as well, I thing 890 was too hot and was causing some spiral at distance. I’ll have to do some indoor testing (limited to 40 yards) here to see just how good it will group.

Hoot, 😯 😆 the Edgun rail is attached by an 11mm dovetail (3/8″) and slides off to the front or rear âž¡ when you loosen those two cap screws.. it is VERY tight though and often need a soft faced hammer to persuade it off..
What did you use to cut the OEM rails off the Edgun? They look nice and flush with the new rail???
They make a rail blank that is 32″ long…. 😯

Let me make the second one and see how I feel about doing this for someone other than myself. 😀
For that length I would highly recommend keeping as much of the original height of the extrusion as possible.
What’s the longest you can make one of those?
I need one 18″ long to clip my T60 on in front of the scope.

Well I finished it… I made it a little different in terms of length and how the back end of the rail looks compared to the EdGun OEM part.
Will have to do it again though, it isn’t PERFECT.
The dovetail is a bit too wide for what I wanted and I think I reversed the drop. 😳
I need to upgrade my vise, it has a tendency to lift one edge of the clamped part. I got it for free and it has served me well but it’s time to get a really nice one to replace it.
I left the bolts long since i’ll be making another one. I’ll test this one out to see how it does with the drop at 30 & 45 as well as the right to left alignment from 10-45 yards.
I learned a lot on this build and that is what really counts!!! :8:

Yep, Wingman above is correct, the original comes off with a little help from a plastic hammer and can be put back on in in no time.
That was the second 39/40 I shot with the Ed, I shot six straight 40/40 match winners with the USFT!
I’m way more stoked by the 28/40 offhand score!!! 😉
