Q:

Maddog/RL Airguns Mpup.

They are produced and selling. Made right here in the U.S. Your choice of stock/linkage/scope mount kit, or full blown bullpup Marauder, in your choice of calibers .17 .22 or .25!!!

Take a look at mine…

Double boxed, carefully wrapped.

Full Frontal was never so good. The air gauge is easily readible…

A look at the other side…

Serious solid metal trigger and safety…

Plenty of room to operate the safety lever…

If you can operate a hex wrench, you can put the whole kit on yourself in short order. Attach the scope rail, slide on the trigger/safety, one bolt stock attachment…

The wood and metal fit is cut to perfection.

From another angle.

A view of the linkage. Nothing cheap or bent about this setup. The OEM trigger and safety are simple slide-on, tighten the hex screw…

Front-side linkage trigger and safety assembly. Solid, smooth as silk…

Did I say assembly was easy? Slide on, turn hex wrench…

The Weaver/Picatinny rail is obviously CNC material, and again the fit is perfection…

Tolerances are tight tight tight…

This speaks for itself…

How heavy is it? How about 8 lbs. I can easily hold it at arm’s length and take a picture…yes, it’s LIGHT!

Not all that tall either…

That little snout is handy for the bipod group…

The other side…

That’s right…2.5″ wide…

So, to wrap it up, Maddog and Randy at R&L decided to take a leap of faith and provide what everyone, myself included, has wanted for a LONG time, an MPUP!

It’s late and tomorrow I’m going to put my scope on it and take a few shots. I’ve already played with the trigger/safety. I’ll say it here and now, it’s smoother than the original equipment!

Because I was first on the list…that’s how I got mine. I’ve been whining and begging for a bullpup Marauder for two years. Here’s where: http://www.rlairgunsupply.com/custom-shop/mdrl-marauder-bullpup/

More later….

I’ve got Neil’s 8″ overlapping screw on LDC on the 25 and it really makes a difference.

I’m glad to see my impaired hearing initial findings have been verified. I have also noted the police have not visited me since I put Neil’s screw-on/LDC moderator on my Edgun. That’s a warm feeling.

.25 caliber, my personal favorite.

You are right about the Marauder having a “preference” on air pressure. It’s a gun with a lot of fps/fpe adjustments available to the user.

My preference would be to install an Altaros, or similar regulator. I was reading yesterday that a fellow was reluctant to drill a hole in his high pressure cylinder, and I would be too. But he did, when he found out how inexpensive they are to replace, and installed one of the available Marauder regulators and has had great results, 50-60 shots in a .17 caliber!

With a regulator, the Marauder would be in a class with some very expensive air rifles. In the bullpup version, it’s a poor man’s version of an Edgun/Cricket. You can’t always get what you want, but in this hobby you can get close enough to be happy with the results!

Doesnยดt Pekator or the other Polish reg maker or one of those Estonian wizards make regs for the ” stiff upper lip” ??

.. or the Czeck Altaros http://www.altaros.cz

Great idea. ๐Ÿ™‚ I actually posted the suggestion of an extension on Hoot’s other thread about this kit. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hoot also said you can get the kit w/o the horn on the end.

What a well done kit by R&L and Maddog. It took me about an hour including adjusting the trigger a bit lighter before assembling. It sure improves the personality of my Marauder not to mention the balance. Other than adding some blue Loctite to the trigger/safety set screws it went together exactly like the instructions. Now to switch to the weaver scope rings and mounts! ๐Ÿ™‚

Mighty fine reviews you got there Hoot. Thanks for taking the time to take those clear pics, too. It’s a lot of effort, but you’ve obviously found a real gem.

But, dammit, I feel a hole burning through my wallet!

If I recall, these Mrods have a definite pressure range preference to knock the extremes off the bell curve- any info on this (and approx. shot count)?

You may have mentioned the caliber somewhere, yes/no?

Thanks.

H ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ T; you are not Old, based on your hobbies & being involved with air guns & rifles, this is referring to owning the young heart, so you are (Oldgoat, Trygve and others like you) the youngest old

I just found out the Maddog bullpup “snout” is optional. You can get the stock without it.

Nice write up. Mine should arrive in the next two days. No issues with a new kit? Thats the length a bullpup should be or less. ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice butt pad like my other Maddog. Tight barrel to rail distance – very nice. Let us know how that cheek weld is.

Nice!

The picatinny/weaver rail is from Evolution Gun Works. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Same one I machined up for my EdGun rail replacement and the same one Mac1 uses on his USFT’s.

I like the thinking on the linkage, offset the rods with wider trigger/safety blades. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Something tells me though that $465 us not the price of the kit with the action. ๐Ÿ˜ More like the kit OR the action. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So popular it is already out of stock :o:grin:

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

very nice looking. Can not to wait to see how it shoots.

Is that price right? 465? Looks sharp, Im sure you will but please let us know how it shoots. (A friend of mine used to say “as soon as you say “but”, what you’re really saying is “everything I said before but is a lie”).
