257464 Loverin 94 grain mold
I bought a single cavity vintage mold off EBAY last week, The Ideal 257464, it casts a long shanked thin groove short round nose bullet that weighs 94 grains cast of 20-1.
This design was very popular in the 50’s and 60’s in various calibers, apparently for good reason.
I cast 50 casts with it yesterday, threw the first 20 back into the pot and kept the rest, I did not weigh them.
I sighted in yesterday and could see I was in the 1.5 moa and under range, but did not measure them, the 4 to 6 mph wind was scattering them laterally and that was apparent in the groups pattern.
This morning I fired 5 shots between rain storms and came up with this .85 MOA group, it was 2 inches high and one inch to the right of the painted over aiming point.
You can just make out the white 8 inch gong at 280 yards above the bullet nose.

The line up 100 grain NOE, Ideal 94 grain 257464, 84 grain Ideal 257388, NOE 80 grain Ranch Dog design, 257420 70,5 grain HP
