I’m done !!
To make a long story (struggle) short.. I believe I’m done with airguns.. I traded a nice condor with some goodies with a member that I won’t name, for what was supposed to be Haley .308.. I asked if this was a Haley or one the conversions.. He didn’t seem to know anything about it.. Like the old fool I am, I went ahead with it..
Received it to find out it was a cheap conversion .. After 15 or so shots it wouldn’t cock.. Took it home and removed the stock to get to the sear.. Fiddle with that for a while and went out to try again.. It then locked up again .. Well it went on and on, valve locked up and had to send it in .. Since Jack is sick I sent it to someone with knowledge on them..Went to put it together and found that about all the screw were cross-threaded.. I couldn’t get it to seal so off it went again.. He did what he could but no joy !
Well I decided to try to sell it so I can recoup a little money.. Not a good experience at all and since I have some more money into the support equipment.. Tanks, gauges, mold and bullets, I’m confused.. Is it even worth the aggravation to continue… Might consider trading it for a Hatsan PCP to someone with knowledge on these QB78’s.. If not, then I will sell everything I can and use it to get the doors widened for when I’m in my chair… ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING !!!

Well,Idp .The the forum member responable for this BAD TRADE,has been a member since 2009 & has over 3000+ posting on this forum & he tells Ray he knows nothing about the Haley,but post chrony readings on this rifle. ( GOOD THING FRANK DID’NT DO A TRADE W/ HIM, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN REAL BAD ). All I CAN SAY MANUP DUDE!!!

Ray,Iam sorry you had a bad deal w/ a member on this forum. He should have MANUP & made the deal good for you & take the rifle back,but tells you he does’nt know anything about the rifle, thats BS.anybody that looks @ that rifle knows it’s a QB conversion ( trigger assembly w/pivoting saftey in front of the trigger).He should hide in a hole for taking advantage of a partialy disable airgunner. a $1000.00+ .25 CONDOR W/ A R&L STOCK & MODS. FOR $450.00 HALEY QB CONVERSION NOT WORKING,SHAME ON YOU & YES I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Ray now your going to have a working .25 cal highpowered compact rifle & if it aint rite I’ll make it rite. Wish i had the money for a new gun.. I am disabled and living on SSDI.. The condor with goodies and the support equipment took over a year and a half to save for.. Now I have nothing to shoot the varmits (yotes and coons) with.. Should of sent it back as soon as i recieved this crap .. No fool like a old fool.. I really feel like a ass on this !!
Yeah, hate to hear that.
But don’t give up on airguns. Not being an asshole (just honest) but, there are much better airguns out there. So don’t think this one gun is like the higher end guns like Daytstate and Theoben and FX and others. One “BAD” experience should not ruin it for the rest.
Just saying and this is coming from a guy that has owned, TUNED and seen my fair share of haleys.

i have a QB78 i’ve been “Playing with” over a period of years. where I’ve found the very easy to work on and to ‘figure out’, they can be perplexing in their “oddities”.
i run it on HPA and have made some mods to the valve in the way of opening it up and tapering the valve stem head…with the standard tank and seals i use an AF hand pump to fill to 1200 psi and operate it…now comes the down side…only get 2-3 good shots from it…air capacity demand is much too small for the storage (it does make it ez to pump up though… 🙂 )
never the less…i am enjoying the building and learning process and even the results.
at the moment i have a pretty respectable, hard hitting 22 caliber HPA that’s VERY accurate out to 50 yards (so far)
what’s my point? maybe you can “Build yourself a silk purse from a sow’s ear”. the QB’s are ez to work on, and ez to get parts for , and… not to mention parts are usually, not expensive.
