Cricket- Hammer Spring Questions…

When I first got my Cricket it was shooting 885-895, it was tuned at WildWest/TGAG prior to shipping.

I turned out the tension screw one half turn at the Western Regional FT Championships and tested the velocity today.

Now it’s up around 905-915.

I thought turning out the hammer spring tension knob reduced the velocity….?

So…

I backed out the hammer spring knob 1/4 turn, no real change…

Backed it out a full turn, no real change… 🙁

Backed it out another three turns, no real change… 👿

Unscrewed the entire assembly and the spring sticks out about 1/2″ to 3/4″ just sitting there. Takes a bit of push to set the tension screw/sleeve/end cap.

Screwed it back in and set it flush with the back of the action (it was originally set one turn out from flush), same velocity, screwed it in another full rotation, no change. :9:

Has anyone else experienced no effect when turning the hammer tension screw?

Anyone have the original 12 ft-lbs spring they don’t need (mine didn’t come with one)?

Anyone cut down their hammer spring yet? 😯 😮

Is it a typical spring size I can buy elsewhere?

I made a single shot tray out of HDPE last week, fucking little things ain’t simple. But it’s done and works even if the pin is set to rotate the mag. :8:
