Q:

Can i Down the power in my Cricket?

-hello
I bought a Cricket in .25
It gun gives a lot of energy for me , 50 fpe, it gives 950 fps with JSB Kings (25,4 grains)
My Fx Gives 860 fps with JSB and i feel that this power is enough for me, moreover i believe that at this power it don´t waste air.
then, my question, Is possible to down the power form 50 fpe to 45 fpe, or from 950 fps to 890-900 with the same pellet?
Anybody can help me?

It has a tension screw? like my fx
If i turn out the tension screw, what happened with the regulator?

quote Hoot:

The hammer tension screw can adjust the Cricket by a couple of hundred feet. No adjustment to the regulator is required, but some purists may feel the need to “balance” the two.

I am not a purist. I just backed the screw out counterclockwise a couple of times and got my .25 down to 880 fps. Gun shot great at that speed with the JSB pellets.

That´s a damn lie and you know it. You´re THE purist in this Forum with your endless quest for soundless Bullpups.

OP – follow – only this one time – Uncle´s advice and turn the HT screw counterclockwise and see / behold the velocity magically drop.

loosen the HTS till you see about 3 to 4 threads on the adjuster, if you can’t lower the speed at that setting, get a shorter or weaker spring ( the new stock spring are longer with a lot preload to shot 950fps and most of the time you cant lower to 880fps just by adjusting the stock spring) to get it down to 880 or so and this is the easiest and fastest way in lowering the speed. For me the most consistent shot string at 890fps is adjusting the regulator to 1700psi or 120B output then fine tune with the stock spring.

1. Yes it’s like most FX adjuster

2. noting happens to the regulator pressure, your just adjusting the valve opening by adjusting the stock spring, just like a regulated FX.

Or do the lazy way——-turn barrel to miss aligned the air transfer/port–like adjusting an aperture to reduce air going out the barrel—just make sure the barrel is seated to the rear. make use of the barrel alignment screw that came with it to realigned the air transfer/port……. on top of weaver mount the cap screw near the muzzle end has to be removed then lightly screw on barrel alignment screw it will seat on a taper on the barrel that will give your original reference of alignment of the air ports.
