No consist groups at 50 yards – help please!
I’ve had my Condor SS .22 for about 2 months and it is completely stock with no mods. No issues with the gun mechanically thus far.
I purchased 4 tins of ammo based on my research to start finding my “magic pellet”
They are as follows: JSB Monsters in 18.1 and 25.4, and H&N Barracuda Match in 21.3, and H&N Field Target in 14.6.
I shoot at power level 4 and always between 2500 – 2000 psi. This combination seems to provide the best controlled noise level for my neighborhood back yard shooting.
The H&N 14.6 shoot too loud for my neighborhood so I didn’t even try to shoot groups with them.
The JSB 18.1 and H&N 21.3 shoot a quarter size consistent group at 30 yards, but then at 50 yards the group expands to about a half dollar and start to spread after 5 or 6 shots. Just when I think the JSBs are right on target, they will start to spread so I switch back to the H&N.
I want to keep the gun stock for now with no mods, so is this the best I can expect out of these groups?
I am shooting prone on the ground with the forearm supported and feel I am steady as a rock when shooting.
Should I try some other kinds of ammo or settings on the gun.
My only goal right now is to shoot as consistent a group as possible at 50 yards on paper for maybe 10 shots or so.
Thanks in advance for all your input and I truly enjoy reading all your posts.
