Q:

Matador .25 R3.5 FPS

I am having Ernest do a repair on my regulator, I messed it up somehow. What would be the best FPS to have it set at? I shoot JSB Exact King 25gr. pellets.

Thanks!

Be honest- have you been on the pill jar again ??

I am the pilot you probably read. Windy pellet plane – not sure I follow but I am a bit slow sometimes. 😛

I suspect it being a bit high. Have no idea what pressure it’s set at though since i havent got a way to measure it before Ernest, hopefully, agrees to sell that gizmo to me.
I’m no pilot which is probably good for the mankind … 😉

I quess that 880-890 is somewhat the sweet spot for those King´s. I´ll try mine at that speed once i get my new HST adjuster. As for now i can´t get that far down in speed with my current adjuster. All the way out and i´m at 918 …

Sir, do you have any idea what pressure you gun is operating at? It may be a little too high, You may have to reduce regulator pressure down a little so your HST can be effectively adjust up or down around 880 f/s.

Both of my Edguns shot at about 940 f/s when I received it. Although accurate and has lots of power, I preferred the slower speed for other reasons.

Sir, you are a pilot right? I am sure a few of out member here are pilots. Maybe you can tell us your experience when flying on a windy day. It may not the same as shooting a pellet, but at lease we can relate.

I ave both .25 long and short version. Both are set at 880 f/s. I personally found that pellets are more stable in most wind conditions and the guns are easy to shoot. I get a few more shot count, a little less and the guns are nor as jumpy,

Since Ernest R is fixing/tuning your gun, you can ask him which is best. He knows these guns well.

My long version is still grouping MOA at 942fps with the JSB 25s.
I put little over 10k JSB 25s through it at 885fps out to 200yds.
I can tell you with complete certainty now after 1k pellets at 942 fps there is no
loss of accuracy even in the wind

I don´t know about the .25 cal Matador but my Cricket .25 shoots very accurate at 280 mps (918 fps or so) with those pellets.
