Q:

Long Range Gong targets

Hi guys,

This weekend a bunch of us went to a resort in the mountains as part of a camping/shooting weekend. I had put together some gong targets as I know they would work well with the 18gr Jsbs I am shooting. My Condor is pushing them at 990fps, I normally shoot them at 930fps but wanted to see how they would do in the custom .22 barrel at higher velocity. Needless to say we had many hours of long range shooting, anyone with an airgun was welcome and we ended up with anything from Hw50’s to Condors and Sumatras.

The targets took one hell of a beating but other than being void of any paint, they’re none the worse for wear. Over 2 days the gongs took about 3-4000 shots. Here’s a short clip of the Condor in action.

Nice vid. Love the surrounding mountains and the river right in front of your guys. AWESOME!

But if i may add a little “TO DO” on the next video. Use a tripod. Like a scope, when you use MAX ZOOM on the camera to film down range, every SLIGHT movement becomes very exaggerated.

Thanx Cedric, much appreciated. I’ll get a tripod asap.

subscribed. You mention a custom barrel on that .22 who’s barrel is it? What other mods if any have you done to this gun? I watched each of the pesting videos you have put on the channel cant wait to see the next ones

Thanx ldp, yes the barrel was built by a local gunsmith. His barrels are amongst the most accurate I’ve come across-one hole groups at 50yrds is the norm.
Re the vids, my aim is to keep it fresh and original. Hopefully I can get a 200yrd starling this weekend.

Guys please feel free to have a look at my Youtube channel-Long Range Nick. I’ve got some hunting clips as well as some long range targets. There are some clips where I show (very close) missed shots at around 190yrds and 225yards. I’ve given a short description with each clip, that’s quite interesting. Everything is done with my .22 Condor.
Please like and subscribe, I’ve got some spectacular stuff in the pipeline.
Much appreciated,

Nick

You must have some power the way the sand was kicking up, good video!

Maw, yes my rifle was pushing 18grs @ 990fps. Unfortunately its the only pellet that my barrel likes. I would love to be able to shoot 21gr H&N’s or 25gr Jsb’s that accurately.

Love it. The pullback at the end is a shocker. It goes from “yeah, that’s cool” to “DAMN” at the ending, at least if you ignore the title like I did.

Lol, thanx for the feedback John. I’ve just started with my Youtube channel so I’ve still got a lot to learn but getting there.
