Q:

Top Hat Free Play

On my Condor SS 25 cal the top hat clearance is .09″. I installed an o ring that is 1/16″ thick = .0625″, now there is a free play of .09″- .0625″ = .0275″. Do I take up this free play with a washer that is .0275″ thick, or use a thicker o ring ? I would think this would help lower the extreme spread a bit. If so, is a Nylon or Brass washer used ? I have read very little on this forum and don’t see new info on this free play (gap). Your answer(s) will help me save on the 25 cal pellets that will take me to crony the results, thanks !

A big thanks powderburner !

My noggin is absorbing the readings. I’m trying to give my new Condor SS 25 cal the best tuning I can without buying a regulator.

Thanks guys !

There is a balance to be had in the relationship between the hammer weight and hammer spring to the bottle value spring and back fill pressure on.

I also found this using Google search under “rubber fender washer” of all things. They discus shimming the small space between the o ring and bottle collar.

That gap is the amount your valve opens when the hammer drops. You gotta chrony to get the ideal setting, since the o-ring changes the valve’s behavior.

There just being lazy.

Well………………I guess this is not a good idea to under go ? Zero replies indicates my Newbie lack of understanding the mods used in AF Airguns. 😕

more reading …….. more searching …….. reading more again ……. doing more …. .. . = learning more. 😎
