Thanks for the report of muzzle flip from your .30 standard. That is pleasing to hear. I will receive 1 long and 1 standard in .30 I bet those little buggers (Sparrows) look like poof balls when you strike em! 😈 Can we say overkill? :5:
Mine is the .30 Short (STD) or did you order both? 😉 I shot it off hand a few times (without a scope on it) just to try it out and in moves a little but not much.
Hi SECoda, I am receiving that exact one. Makes me feel good to know yours is as good as we hoped they would all be. I know we will get to the bottom of it eventually. My .30 long and .25 R3m are to arrive the first of next week here in Sunny CA. Please tell if you notice any muzzle jump when shooting yours off hand. I’ve read so many posts lately I do not recall if you have reported on that previously or not.
Hmmm. My Std .30 is consistently shooting 1/2″ groups out to 40 yards. I will put up some new targets over the weekend and post. It is close to my Std .25 and I only have 50 shots through the gun. What if the Short ones are more accurate. 🙂 There does seem to be some variability in the LW barrels but my gun is shooting about 30-35 fps slower than the Longs at 870 fps and that could be making a difference. I am up to 7 sparrows and it is awfully wicked on the little buggers. 🙂
Hi John, yes the wolverine had muzzle flip. It will be interesting to hear what the .30’s feel like when shooting offhand. It looks like most of the posts have stated shooting off rests. Can’t blame the East coast fellas though for not sitting out in the cold snow and shooting strings with them off their knees. 😎 My bet is the fellas report muzzle flip. That is a reason I predict the long may be more accurate in my hands, and why it was my first choice. The extra shots are just a bonus. :8: I will indeed give a report how they shoot in my honest opinion. 🙂

You are thinking, planning ahead. Is it safe to say that only 19 people in the US are lucky enough to own the new .30 Edgun. You are the only person out of the 19 will have a long and a short .30.
I am sure there is nothing is wrong with the gun, it will gets better with time. I think The shooter needs more trigger time to get used to it. You had a wolverine at one time, was it a little jumpy compared to your .25s.
I had a chance to order both the long and the short .30 cal but I decided to go for the short version mainly because my short R3 gets all of the action in the fields. Both of my long .22 and .25 R3s have never been mounted or shot. 🙁

I suppose my name on the classifieds posting may have something to do with it : I also recognize the gent that posted just above 😉 I swapped my in route .25R3M for that .30 Standard. My .30 long needed a little buddy. I’m not sure which I will like the best either. The long .30 or the short.30. Figured I’d get a chance at another .25 R3M before someone unloaded one of the 10 .30 standards. As Ed has already planed to make more .25R3M’s. And I have a couple wicked .25 long guns already. Just, not an Edgun. I presently don’t see working until after the new year. So braking in the two new .30’s will be my new day job. Sure glad the miss’s has a job. I promise Hemn I will take photos of the two .30’s together if I don’t trade or sell one by next week. The photos of the rifle I will receive show some nice figure in the wood. I’m excited to see it in person. 😀
The 30s take a lot of work to get shooting good. I have been shooting mine for 2 days and it is hard to shoot good like a 22 or 25. My r3m 25 hammered out of the box. .5 inch at 43yds. Shot a .3″ group today at 43yds with 30 but like ed said they take time. I have put 300 pellets through mine. Some groups are good, a lot are not. Ed said they have fliers and they do. Some groups are 2-3″ at 43yds. I believe Ed hand made each of the guns. I mean the bolt and drilled the hole in action for the bolt. not cnc. I think if someone puts in the time to wear the gun in it will get better. Honestly I might sell mine, if anyone is interested.
