bedding my R3 22 cal
hey guys I know this may have been a problem for some and it was for me the barrel band being pulled down onto the airtube so I did a bunch of searching on here for a solution and went at it after a whole lot of brain storming and went for it,the pics should be self explanatory I used a peaice of aluminum pipe and 220 grit paper and worked the airtube high spots that are in the stock until the airtube set down low enough to let me tighten screw without pulling the barrel into the airtube after doing this there is no more rocking and light can be seen all the way around barrel band when tight and I can still slip a dollar bill under the air tube in the front of gun …now im battling with reg and hammerspring setting to get the gun tight on the spread this is my fourth adgun and probably not my last one,,, 
will post progress later with groups ,,one thing I know this gun is doing is suffering from the dreaded pellet wobbles and that’s at 895ish fps that I confirmed today with scope camera at 240 fps every other shot would be off the mark and all off them were wobblers so I have been working with the reg and hst to get it to hang around 880ish or so,,,,,hope the wind stays low so I can see if it fixes the problem, will post video of wobble later thanks tag members for the info..

Next time you have things apart measure everything and check for out of round parts.
You may be very surprised.
If you find anything oval, de-centered and correct everything (a lathe needed) you’ll be even more surprised over the new accuracy of your gun.

I went a step further and pulled the barrel and polished it on my buffing wheel where the o ring rides on the barrel when installed and lubed it good with divers grease to insure the barrel can move and return from shot to shot if it needs too, hey I figured it can’t hurt actually I think it may have helped ,if the barrel wants to float I made sure it could lol.

I´m talking about the “old” muffler design. Trust me, it has to be lined up perfectly or you get accuracy issues. When i say lined up perfectly i mean those guns that has these out of round & out of center issues. Those that haven´t aren´t fuzzy about the alignment/torque.
It doesn’t have to be perfectly lined up to shoot correctly with the offset muffler although it may look funny off to the side. I was playing around with my standard 30 and had it shooting w/o clipping with it turned nearly until the muffler hit the air reservoir. The holes still line up. The problem is the baffle cast itself is off a bit and pointed down a little when the oriented as Ed intended. You can hold the front up as you tighten the nut and that normally is fine. The pellet still travels nearer to the 12 position even when it is clearing the holes but it is fine. Don’t waste your pellets if it is clipping.
Once evrything´s right the importance of “correct” barrel nut torgue disappears too since everything´s perfectly centered.
I´ve encountered the following thing, among other EdGun owners: The shroud/shroud distance/the muffler/barrel tightening nut being out of center/the hole on the muffler being oval. Once like that and if not tightened at EXACTLY lined up, to correct the problem as much as possible, there will be all kinds of weird accuracy issues due clipping, spiraling pellets and whatnot. The end-it-all solution will be either fixing the issue with a lathe or to buy new parts that are as should.

groups are getting even better after I pulled barrel and cleaned and inspected everything one thing I noticed was the shroud fitting that has the oring inside of it was stuck pretty good on the barrel,i got it to move and lubed it with divers grease and installed it and tightened barrel 1/4 turn past hand tight,im kinda thinking the barrel needs to float at that point of contact ,don’t know but it helped mine quite a bit
how tight have some of you gotten the ss fps on your edguns

update the groups did get better with the low 880 tune, now i just need to fine tune the hst to get real consistent ss i may need some imput on that but one thing i did figure out while testing it the other day is it seems to like a head diameter of 552 vrs the 553
ive got about 1500 thru it as of yesterday ,last night I tuned it down to 880 mark and will shoot some today to see what it does and yes the barrel was cleaned several times and about 20 shots to get it seasoned back up before I shot videos, I think im getting this reg pulling and adjusting down pretty good .
That is one way and good on ya for taking the initiative.
Personally I would of epoxied a pillar through the trigger guard screw hole and built up where the stock is compressed with steel bed.
But you have accomplished what you set out to do.
How many pellets have you through your rifle and have you cleaned the barrel a few times.
My standard .22 is shooting the same fps. and exhibited quite a bit of pellet cork screwing.
I haven’t messed with the fps and have put a few 1000 pellets through it and a couple cleanings. It is much less a issue now than when newish.

Another solution is to make a spacer.
Here one I designed in SW and 3D printed it for my matador, now I never have an issue or POI shift. This was an older design, now I made a better revision, but don’t have any pics.
If anyone wants they can go to shapeways.com and print my spacer in any material they want.
Mine was made for 1mm, some may be a little different. You need to measure it.
