R3m 25 cal standard update
Ok, maybe no one cares anymore. It seams like you either love the multishot or you hate it and no info will change your mind. However, I didn’t have any major issues when mine was new so I just followed eds instructions. I just shot the dam thing and waited for it to smooth out. Well at about 450 pellets, the bolt begain to get harder to cycle so I decided it was time to relube. I took everything apart, cleaned it, burnished with tungsten disulfide, relubed everything but the bolt with molylube and thinned as needed with 30w pure silicon. Then covered the bolt with motorcycle chain wax, let it dry, lubed the breach bolt bore ith a little clear synthetic grease and slapped it back together. After about 20 shots going all over the place, and having to wipe it down a few times. It’s operating as smooth as I could ever need or want. It also hitting the targets again. I put a few drops of silicon on the pivot points for trigger linkage and moly on the rest of the moving parts as well. The trigger is diffrent, I can’t say its better or worse. I can feel a second stage now. I’m not sure if its supposed to be two stage or not, it’s still great, just taking a little getting used to now. So in conclusion, not to suck any Russian dick( I’ve got plenty I could bitch about) but I would recommend to anyone that gets a new multishot, just shot it for a while. Mine didn’t make the recommended 1000 shots before relube, but it wasn’t bad during breaking and and now its awesome. Still trying to find time and light to Chrony it.
I also figured I’d update what I decided to do to solve the question I had about protecting the wood stock. The black stuff on the stock is just $2.00 friction tape from lowes. They sell it with the electrical tape. It’s kind of like soft athletic takpe. I oiled the stock a few times before putting the tape on to male sure I wasn’t going to have issues getting it back off. It been there about a week now and its holding well. It was a little bit sticky at first,but that was just residual from being on a roll. It’s good now. .

Hey coda,
I just realized you have two of the sr-pro reticles. How do they line up with your 25 cal. I was looking at getting a sidewinder in either 20x mil dot or sr-pro. My concern was that the sr pro doesn’t look like its got enough aim points above the center. If you zero at 75 yards, can you still hit at 30 yards or do you run out of aim points?

That’s good I have a dozen tins of .25 Cudas that I have never tried in the .25 Matador.
Not past 50 yards. At 50 they are about the same. Just a little (1/4) right
Have you tested accuracy with the Cudas?
Jsb 25.39 grain 932 fps 48.8 FPE
Barracudas 31 grain 891 fps 54.8 FPE
With the barracudas, the gun is whisper quite. With the jsb I get a little pneumatic pop sound. Don’t know what that’s about. It not the breach Oring cause I put a new one in it and checked it as well.
There is usually a noticeable noise difference with 40 fps deveation… especially at 930 range..
Basic Chrony numbers are as follows
Jsb 25.39 grain 932 fps 48.8 FPE
Barracudas 31 grain 891 fps 54.8 FPE

You really dont want to use silicon on any metal to metal parts. Only on o-rings.
Your post read like you use silicone on metal to metal parts.
But I am glad that you got your R3M smoothed out. I did the same thing. Took breech apart, wiped it off, re lubed with Mobil 1 Syn grease. Smooooooth.

Yes – I use the Optimum Zero Range in Chairgun and use the magnification to increase range to stay within the limits of the reticle.
