New metal tipped Polymag METALMAG in .22 cal
First off has anyone tried them yet?
Second does anyone have measurements? I’m interested in the .22 cal

What single shot tray are you using?
My .22 Cricket loves them.
The metal tip brings nothing “new” to the party!
Metal tips are old news, they have been around for a long time, usually in the form of a BB stuffed in the tip.
If the new round isn’t heavier than what’s out now…why would anyone pay a premium for something that does nothing???
That’s like golf clubs “re-inventing” themselves each year with fancy terms and slight twerks to the clubs. Just because it has a new name doesn’t mean it’s worth the bucks!
Way back before JSB had their finger in Skenco’s pie they made these.. the were 28.6gr in .25cal.. Im not sure what they intend to do with the new ones but Id guess they are the std .25 polly’s with a steel tip which will bring them to the 28gr “ish” mark..
If isn’t available in 35gr in .25 caliber, they just as well not bother…in my humble opinion!
I can’t believe 1gr is going to make a significant difference in performance in any caliber. However, there is a conspicuous lack of quality pellets between the 30gr Barracudas and the 40+gr Ein Jin’s.
I can shoot a powder burner cheaper than the Ein Jin’s cost, especially in the .30 and larger calibers. There comes a point of diminishing returns when shooting a large caliber air gun over a powder burner, at least here in the U.S. Other countries don’t have a “Second Amendment” to protect their citizens. If Barry Soetoro keeps putting out his Executive Directives, we’ll eventually need a full mental and physical exam to qualify for gun ownership.
Let’s all dance the ‘wealth redistribution, ban all guns, entitlement’ jig!!!

Like hell I’m off topic!!!
And There ya go! Armored Vermin, Plenty of reason to use them! 😉 😀
Knife
The poly-tipped seemed to help expansion just fine. Wait a minute….wait just one minute…has someone identified a light armour menace in the airgun world?
Pictures….I need pictures!!!
With no small amount of alarm….

We are hoping and praying the extra grain at the front tip gives the stability that seems often missing with the .22 polycarbonate tipped Predators. Then we can explode sparrows with our .22 caliber guns in much the same fashion as we currently do with the .25 caliber guns and Predators.
Practicing conservation one backyard at a time.
P.S. We are also hoping Predator Intl has a New Years gift for us of a new 30 cal Predator pellet in the 45 grain arena. 😛
What exactly is the metal tip doing for us? Are these tips the same as the ‘Green Tip” .223/5.5mm light armor piercing ammo???

A single shot tray is why I was needing the length.
Something tells mr they will go well in the Edgun barrel with the 17gr and forward center of gravity.. the .22 polymags are too light and the power needs to be wound back to shoot them accuratly.. I might have to order some to try..
They area a grain heavier at 17 as you probably noticed. I have a tin sitting in the cabinet waiting for a trial. The single shot tray for the Cricket would be enough to make me try them. In general, I have never had much luck with Predator .22 pellets in any gun being real accurate. On the other hand the .25 Predator pellets are as accurate as Kings out of my .25 Matador. Go figure.
The metal tip predators have been around for a long time but it looks like they have improved and renamed them?
They look to be the same size as a std pollymag..

Rodents with armor. Pellets with nipples. Man, the world is getting weird.
