Q:

Changing max power from 120 FPE to 14.751242986 FPE possible

Is it possible to change the max power of a fully tuned condor slug gun(120 FPE) down to 14.751242986 FPE, with a just a valve stem insert?

isn’t 120 ft #s capable with a 25 LW barrel and jerry’s slugs. then you would have to have a fully polished out condor at least, maybe a little extra hammer weight.
here is 111 foot pounds http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20382

then shoot light 25 pellets at way slow velocity to get down to 20 jewel. ???!!! :confusedn:
25.4 JSB at 510 fps is 14.67 foot pounds

any body try these pellets at this velocity ???????????????????????????

pretty much have to go 25 to get over 100 foot pounds, then get the gun to shoot the jsb at the low velocity ?????????

You do 😉 ?

we have converters :biggrinn:

I thought the US users of this forum prefer FPE before Joule

why not just say 20j

I can see no reason it couldn’t be done. But a simple full valve wwap in th ebottle would be easier. A talon valve and smaller, (stock) spring and hammer would be a surer way of geting there. And would be a lot more tuneable. 😉

Your right, my mistake corrected.

You might be able to get 14.68 or 14.69, but I dont’ think 14.67 is possible. 🙄 😆

Congrats gens you figured it out, its a 20J competition limit (club rules)
Can it be achieved with a valve stem change or putting a restrictor in the tophat. It doesn’t have to exactly 14.67 FPE, but the closer the better.

Isn’t 14.7 fpe equivalent to 20 Joules (SI unit of ft lbf) ? I am assuming that would be a legality?

Calculated from the sweet spot for a favorite pellet?

The answer is “sure.” But I’d have a long talk about it with Tony. Precision orifices can be tricky. Variables can get tricky. Just ask anyone who’s tried to make custom carb jets.

Gotta agree with TC….14.67 sounds very “PURPOSE”. It’s almost like he already DID get that number but is asking a trick question.

So I for one get were TC is coming from.

Why not the EUROPEAN 12 FPE or the American standard of 30 FPE. I mean…………..14.67 FPE? That’s an odd number

I wanna know too……….I wanna know too………….IT FRIGGEN KILLEN ME LARRY (voice from that horrible “TV” commercial).

I’m guessing some weird club rule max fpe for a competition?
