Q:

Condor ss 22 Question Marauder (owner)

If the gun is sighted in right does it get knocked off the POI easy?
The reason I am asking is I got a 25 syn Marauder that is a tack driver, but if I bump it or set it down wrong , or pick it up buy the barrel its POI is off
I just asking do you have to baby the Condor or can you sling it over your shoulder and hike a few miles and expect to hit a sparrow at 50 yards…
A lot of you guys that own both guns may want to answer this…. I think of the Marauder as a gentle gun, Be gentle with it and it will shoot a sparrow head off at 70 yards, Knock it around a few times as in a hunting trip and that floating barrel will be off a few inches,,, Not good,,,,
So what’s the Condor group say, Be honest now,,,,,

There are three ways to cure it that I am aware of. (that are avaliable). The WOK guard, the mad dog stock and a little mod that Dyotat does. (Which is hard to come by.)

Now if we could just convince AG to stop milling away so much metal in the breach area and the scope rail. we would be set! I mean, they figured it out for their AF Edge Gun. That doesn’t use a scope. LOL!!!

Anyone ever tried using the Edge frame for high power?

Mike and all,

Is it possible to get this flex situation remedied?

Will aTalon tune do it, how much does the wok guard decrease it.

I haven’t purchased my gun yet, so it’d be nice to know which path to take.

Well my friend, here in Texas, in the summer sun, the Black Frame of the gun gets a hell of a lot hoter than 100 degrees. A LOT HOTTER.

But the point I have been trying to make, and you miss, is I am not talking group to group in a given day. Its shoot one day, and come back a week later and the damed thing will be a LOT off. This is a huge problem with these rifles. Always has been. Seems you are the only one who has never had the problem.

I have tried the laser on the frame. It will be dead on setting static one day, and when checks a week later, can be off several inches at 100. WTF!!! HUH!!! WTF???

I know exactly what and where the problem is. (ANd I am cradeling the gun or not mugging the gun. This is with the gun setting static in a gun rest and testing that I see this). The steel bottle, hanging on an Alu. breach, that is so thin that a good blue bird fart can flex it does change with temp. Much less anything like a change in grip. Like wearing a “T” Shirt one day, and a Jacket the next is enough to change poi at 100 yards. AirForce needs to address this. It’s been an ignored poroblem for too damed long!

No amount of tightening the bl. in the frame will keep the breach bottle area from flexing. Nor can it keep the Scope rail from flexing in relation to the frame and breach. There is simply not enough metal there to secure anything . Pitiful! 👿

And this is exactly WHY Your WOK Guard does such a GOOD JOB! If these areas were Not a Problem, there would be no need for the WOK in the first place. And it would acomplish nothing but cosmetic. Riiiiiiight? 😉 But we both know it does work. And you know it works. Otherwise you wouldn’t have developed it and been making it all these years. “Hello!”
Now quite arguing with your self. Damit-It!!!

Mike,

Even in a stock the rifle is still made of aluminum.

Years ago I ran a test on my Talon SS from 50* in the morning to 100* in the afternoon and did not have a POI change due to temperature. It was exactly what I thought happened but with my rifle that just did not prove to be true. I used a lazer keep on target and in that case it was the scope suffering from the temperature change. Put on a better scope (Bushnell Legend) and the POI change no longer occurred.

One of the biggest benefits you can make to your rifle to improve POI shifts is to fit your barrel bushing to the frame so they are tight and have no slop when you secure them.

Long before anyone else figure it out. I talked about fitting your barrel bushings to the frame by using nail polish to build up the O.D. of the bushing and then pressing them into the frame so it shaves away the excess and gives a perfect custom fit.

If the bushing are custom fitted to the gun and you cradle the gun correctly the POI problems decrease dramatically.

I agree with that knife. Wheni. First started I would have shifting poi from group to group but read about how finicky these guns are on hold. Sure at 20 yards hold however you like and you’ll get .25 inch groups but if you don’t have consistent hold at the further ranges it definitely will be off. If your looking to really tighten up groups though you have to change this stock trigger way too unforgiving for tight groups at far ranges. For me anyhow

Most shooters here aren’g interested in precision shooting. The shift I am talking about, is 1/2″ to 1″ at most a 80 to 100 yards. and yes they shift. The alu. frame is extreemly temp. dependent. Alu. expands and contracts wtih Temp changes more than steel.

If it’s shooting off day to day more than a very small amount at shorter ranges. say 50 yards or more, It’s usually the shooter changeing something in techique of their shooting. Or something such as baffel clipping or loose barrel screws are causing a problem. Or the old stand by. Scope is screwed up. Always a good excuse. 😆 Especially if shooting with friends. 😳

The only reason some of you guys don’t notice it, is that you are just not that demanding on your set-up. Notice that I didn’t say most can’t shoot for shit. 🙄

😀 Knife 😀

I don’t have this problem anymore, I was though and found out my baffles were loose inside the tube and were shifting. I am only talking about the Airforce.

My Airforce has held it POI for months with out a shift. You hold the gun correctly the POI will not shift due to the gun.

Now the POI can change dramatically due to the scope. Scope can change with a bump or temp change depending on the scope you are using.

Stock af condor ss .22′. Hasn’t changed poi once. Unless I do it.’i go right from 10-100 yds and get hits it takes a lot of rounds to get the feel and proper hold but once you do your set. If you have the room I’d go with a .25 right off the bat I wish I would have.

The AF rifles are famous for changing their POI form day to day but a MadDog Stock cures that! 😉
