Q:

SOUND LOK W/ AFTER MARKET SHROUD

I am currently running a Crosman 2250XT with Cosmod shroud, and while I am looking to step up my airgun game.. I am dying to know if anyone is running an Airforce TalonSS with Sound loc barrel with an after market Shroud such as a Talon Tune, GTBJ, or other….I am looking for a super backyard friendly tee rat dispatching tool. Any links, advice, or videos would be great..

Hoot I think 1/32 is smaller than 1/16 but it is getting late. :biggrinn:
Are those vent holes between the breech and the rear barrel bushing? How does the air get past the rear barrel bushing with the o-ring around it on the new guns? Do you ventilate the rear barrel bushing as well? or just make the holes in front of the rear bushing?

One step can help, not solve, but help what you have done so far. Six to eight, evenly spaced, vent holes, 1/16th” diameter, drilled about two inches in front of the breech at the rear of the shroud. It releases air pressure at the rear that would otherwise make its way up to the LDC and make it’s job more difficult.

If you do this mod, bigger and more don’t equate to better results. You can go to 1/32″ on the holes, but no larger, and keep the number no more than eight. You want just enough to “help” the rest of the shroud, baffles, and LDC to get the job done. This mod isn’t a fix-all…it is a very good pressure relief method, at no cost, to give the rest of the system a chance to perform with excellence!

Hoot:

the only sound coming from my Condor is hammer slap and I have a Talon Tunes hammer with hammer slap mod http://www.talontunes.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CondorHammerwSlapMod&cat=23 I have a 18″ .22 barrel on that condor with a LDC not as good as a Talon Tunes Moderator but close. The pellet hitting its target is 10 times louder then the gun itself

My condor 25 w/ a neil clague ldc is quieter than my 25 marauder. but it has hammer slap while the marauder has ping. Both are good in the backyard.
