Help me convert
Airforce folks.
I am looking to step up my airgun performance. I have been looking at the Airforce line for sometime. I have a few questions that I hope you all can answer from me to convince me to convert to the Airforce line. I am looking to be backyard friendly, but delivering a lethal does to some nasty tree rats in my back yard. I am wondering how the Sound lok system sounds, and how accurate this gun really is at fifty yards… I am new here some I hope someone will take me under their wing and answer my question with this gun..I have lots…….

My Talon SS is quiet and accurate and I shoot crows out to 45 yards off-hand. I always choose it over my Mrod, even though the Mrod is more powerful and has a bigger scope. I just like the feel of the Talon SS and I think it is more quiet, but it is hard to tell when you are the shooter and the listener (and it is so easy to adjust the Talon to low power that in the back yard, I can turn it down. I never adjust the Mrod because it is not easy to do so, hence the Talon SS is more quiet in the backyard).
For back yard use to 50 yds and quiet i recommend the talon ss in .22. My talon ss in .22 and .177 can handle head shots on squirrel size targets all day long at 50 yds.
I’m new to the AirForce Condor myself. It’s a big step up in power for me. The Condor could be considered too powerful for the back yard without modification.
I modified my Condor with the Talon Tunes Quick Change Top Hat so that I could tune it down with the the restrictors. Go to the top of the page and click on the icon. At Talon Tunes search for Quick Change Top Hat with two size restrictors.
The reason I’m thinking an air gun can be too powerful is what happens to the pellet after it passes through the tree rat. What will it hit next and with how much power.
I wanted to know how much an Eun Jin .22 Cal, 32.4 grain pellet would deform on impact when fired into water from a Condor. I filed an old 5 gallon bucket with water and fired the pellet straight down into the bucket. I had removed the restrictor and the power wheel was set to minimum (1). It blew the bottom out of the bucket and the 32.4 grain pellet was buried somewhere in the sand underneath. Now, that’s got to be too powerful for shooting tree rats in a neighborhood back yard. The restrictor went back in and is still there. And, even with the restictor in, the Condor still kills possums with one shot. It could be tuned down further with the smaller of the two restrictors.
As delivered, the AirForce air guns have adjustable power. With modifications, you can make larger power adjustment. With other modifications you can increase the power enough to take medium sized game. The AirForce air guns can meet your needs. Some modifications may be needed.

Talon SS turned down or using CO2 is pretty quiet for the back yard.
Turn it up and people will hear it for sure.
Guys using CO2 do love it for being quiet and gettting a lot of shots off a tank.
