Matador custom barrel work?.
Ok, if I was going to look for someone to machine a barrel to fit on my matador, who would I look to for the machining? I’d rather not specify what I’m thinking about doing cause some would consider it sacrilegious and a line wuld form to ridicule and flame. :angrymob: but he’ll, its my gun and I can weld a red rider barrel to it if I want to. I got even sure if the barrel I want comes in a blank that can be modified to fit the edgun or not. I want to keep a stock shroud set up with the barrel “stressed” in place. Any help locating the custom edgun barrel guru would be appreciated.

I have a local machine shop cut the threads on my barrel blanks. They charge me $30 per thread.
I tried a FX ST 25 cal barrel on my R3 and it shot about the same as the stock Matador barrel out to 75-80 yards. After 80 yards, the ST barrel got progressively worse compared to the stock Matador barrel.
I got lucky and found an older “good” new BSA 25 cal barrel and it shoots slightly better than the stock Matador barrel at all ranges.
The BSA 25 cal barrel is actually a .243” and it isn’t quite as pellet head size picky as the stock Matador barrel was. I want to try a TJs .243” barrel on my 25 cal R3.
I need to call Mike up at TJs and ask if he has a 1 in 16” twist .243” barrel available. I also need a 1 in 14”-16” twist .257 barrel from him.
25 cal at most. Considered 22. Why. Don’t know
They aren’t letting g that .30 ST barrel out of there grasp!!!
I’m new to the AOA world. Why would it be an issue? It says on the page that these are blanks and that they are for custom fitting on other rifles.
The problem you guys may occur is where to hell to buy them ?? I don´t think AOA is very keen on selling barrels to EdGun conversions so they may require a serial number for your replacement barrel – or go hogwild and tell people to send their FX in for a barrel change.
That makes sense. That’s the best damn part from the FX guns. 😛

Hell, why not put a ST barrel in there. The one issues you may run into is that the ST barrels have an unusual (smaller than normal) outside diameter…
Personally i’d go for a 3 groove Benchmark barrel in 25. :2cents: Problem with those is they have a larger than normal outside diameter.
oops…. :smilen: You did not have to fess up !!! …. I have been looking at those barrels on the AOA site and wondering what an Edy would shoot like with one myself. I know a couple others thinking the same… it is a worthy effort as i understand they group well out to 75 yards, plenty of talk about that !!!
