Longest range condor setup?
I’m wondering what the longest range condor setup is as well as what the range would be. Some potential combinations I’ve thought of so far are .177 w/ a heavy pellet, .22 w/ a med/heavy pellet, .25 w/ a light pellet. Also, what would be the pellet type/brand best suited for it? The longest range I’m able to set up for mine is only a bit above 40yds, so I can’t do testing of combos in the field at further distances. Personal records for the longest shot taken with your rig?

Good thing the Condor has that rugged durable finish on it. Imagine if it was a nice walnut stock 😯
Yeah get this the wind got under my shooting mat blew my Condor on it’s side and lauched 3 tins of pellets into the grass!! I was pissed!!!! The Condor hit a metal frame on my Barska scope thank goodness the scope took the hit alright but it is VERY beefy!
So now I don’t try shooting in that type of wind it gushed over 60 miles an hour and it was impossible to keep targets in place. 😯
Oh well learned to respect wind funny thing is my groups were really off????

Well huge debate here I heard from many that .20 using the long heavy EJ’s are can really reach out there (super flat shooting) as well so the .20 shouldn’t be excluded but I can also say after 3 years of hunting the 29 grain EJ’s in .22 retain huge amounts of energy well past 100 meters.
Here is a measured gopher kill 113 meters and the .22 EJ just kept going, I saw it skip in the field after dropping the gopher!!!!
But as with Texas I thought what the hell bigger is better!!
And now have a .25 Condor shooting 37/42 grain EJ’s at around 930 to 980 fps. I do know the 42 grainers really are horrible on game when hit. My buddy shot two magpies and they really got it bad. My reason I chose the .25 is being on the Prairies I shoot between 50 and 150 meters and the heavy pellets really buck wind. I still have not finished the tests but at extended ranges the 37g EJ’s seem to group better then the 42g EJ’s or 31g Kodiaks with my Polygonal barrel. But stay posted and here are a couple of .22 gopher kills so don’t dismiss the .20 or .22 just remember the heavier the slug the greater the holdover I zero at 50 meters and use my Mildots.

i would take a .25 barrel, kodiacs and SS slightly modded ss valve…55-60 fpe
trirail, and low scope mounts get the scope as close to the barrel as possible while keeping the rail rigid a good lon onepiece scope mount might do the trick too
When the wind isn’t howling here I enjoy shooting the 18″ Bbl. SS in .22 at 90 yds. It will stay under 1 1/4″ at this range with JSB’s, and about 1 1/2″ with the Kodiaks.
Condor’s can and will do 100+ yards with the right pellet.
That is true. I have a barrel of a Talon and the frame of an SS but with the shroud it looks like a long SS.
I think we are on pretty good ground with our shroud considering Airforce now sells them on the edge.
After so much modding on the guns, I don’t think you can really consider them an SS or condor or whatever. I mean, dnc has a SS, but it’s now a big long 9mm. I don’t think you can really consider than a SS anymore. My condor has had about all its parts changed. They change from being a condor or ss, to just being a custom airforce gun.
Not a Condor but I love shooting airgun ram silhouette at 120 yards with my custom SS.
Who was it that wacked the groundhog/gopher at 180ish yards? What combo were they using? That was awesome. 🙂
Killed a lot of soda cans with .22 Condor at 120 yards using 21 gr. kodiak.
As long as your rig produces enough energy to begin with, use heavy pellets – they retain velocity/energy a lot better at longer ranges.
You’ve kind of got it backwards.
The lighter pellets shoot great up to 40-50 yards, after that accuracy starts to get worse. The pellets have slowed down so much any puff of wind blows them around.
The heaviest pellets shoot best at long range. The same holds true for the largest calibers. In fact in my experience, the largest calibers shoot better at range.
Ive been shooting the .22 cal all winter at targets out to 110 yards, and found Kodiak’s to be the only pellet that groups well at that range. JSB heavies worked great out to about 60 yards, then I dunno it just opened up. This is with my gun, your results may vary.
Ive been shooting the .25 caliber for a few weeks now, and using Kodiak’s Ive had very good results out to 110 yards. I haven’t placed any targets further out. This caliber is very consistent for me, and I probably will never shoot the .22 again. Even in the wind, I haven’t missed yet. Velocity holds up quite well, but I’m not going to try and shoot through a chrony at that range to prove it. Not yet anyway… LOL.
I’m not counting paper targets, so my longest 2 shots are a crow @ 70+ yards, and a ground squirrel @ 76 yards. These are the longest only because I haven’t shot at anything further than that. I know opportunities will present themselves, and the gun is shooting so well I’m building a ton of confidence with it.
