Q:

had a good day of shooting-for a while anyway

I haven’t been on here much the last few months as I have been preoccupied with other things. But I had a chance to go to my Buddy’s house and shoot airguns yesterday so I jumped on it. I took my Condor as .25 and my Rainstorm .22 plus a .44 mag River SBH Bisley Hunter and a CZ 455 .22. We had a blast shooting a variety of guns for six hours straight.

My condor was shooting awesome and my friend managed a sub 1″ group at 100 yards in swirling snow. The best I shot was probably 2″ or so. After a little while I heard a rattling sound inside my air tank. It sounds like the valve must have come apart inside but the gun still holds air and shoots fine. I called AF today and talked to Rachel and she gave me a RMA to return the tank for repair. She was very friendly and she said they would get it fixed and shipped back to me pretty quick.
This condor is amazing to me as it is so accurate and easy to shoot. J currently have it set shooting 25.4 jsbs at 950 fps for 24 shots using TT top hat no insert and a thin o ring underneath PW on 4.
It is a hammer and not much louder than my Buddy’s .25 Edgun. When I had the power down to 900 or so it was really quiet.

Perfect weapon for them too!!

Called AF to check the status of my bottle and was told it was fixed and on the way back to me. They said the retainer came off as the other poster stated. I guess I could have fixed it myself but decided to let AF deal with it since it is fairly new yet. Good service on their part. Now just waiting for it to return and Adams Wokguard to come in so I can get my AR15 grip mounted up. Groundhog season is just around the corner. 😀

I had the exact same thing happen to me about 2 yrs ago, for some reason the spring retainer came loose and dropped into the bottle. I opened it and refitted the spring and retainer and all was well. Still shooting aswell as it did then.

😆 Yep! Makes all the difference! 😆 Just reread it. “I took my Condor as .25 and my Rainstorm .22 plus a .44 mag River SBH Bisley ” A regular Condar is VERY LOUD! You should hear one in .257 at 3300 psi! 😯

Well I beg to differ. Have you shot a .25 Condor SS? I have shot it against a Cricket .25 and an Edgun .25. I did a homemade hammer slap mod to mine, added TT Tophat no insert but an oring under it and with powerwheel on 2 it is around 900 fps with JSB’s and it is as quiet as either one of the other .25s and they are also around 900 fps. With the powerwheel on 4 i am getting 940-950 and it is louder. Power wheel all the way up and it is LOUD. Didn’t bother to chrony that setting as I wasn’t going to shoot it like that anyway. I tried the large setscrew but had to crank the pw all the way up to get close to 900 and it was harder to cock plus louder because I couldn’t use the oring or I would lose too much velocity. So with the inserts removed I am able to keep the PW down, use a thin oring and get a nice shot string around the 900 mark and it is quiet, all you hear is the mechanical noise. YMMV. 😆

EDIT– I just noticed in my original post the SS was missing. My bad. 😳

Did I miss what kind of LDC you have on the condor? Without an ldc, they sure as hell aren’t quiet! 😯 Much less nearly as quiet as an EdGun!

It still rattles even after I emptied the tank for shipping. It is under warranty so they can fix it.

Silly question. Does it rattle now? (Swirling snow for an extended period = ice.)
