Hmmmmmm, ok, what if we contact CCI, Nosler or Hornady and ask them about their Polymer Tips and if they can find us a source. We can then send the bullet mold and tips to Eric and HP mold services and ask him to make a HOLLOW TIP mold that would fit the Polymer tips.
Man, we need a full time machinist at our beck and call…..lol!
In that case, it’s already being done. May not be copper though. copper is expensive, with no benefits. Take a look at the newest Preditor pellets. They are what you seek. :8:
Im not seeing how a copper core will “AIDE” or “HELP” in pure lead expanding. Pure lead is SOFTER than copper. Copper IS the controller to lead expanding.
I wrote it wrong, I did mean something like a copper point not core, like in soft point bullets. The insert/point would, on impact be pushed into the lead slug helping it expand faster.

Sure… but why? Copper is more expensive and lighter.
So you could get a lighter pellet, but it would cost more.
Just thinking? Or do you have a plan?
Just throwing some ideas around really. I was tinkering with the idea, that the copper core could aide in the expansion process, something in the line of softpoint firearm bullets, since copper jacketed slugs/bullets don’t work in airguns.
Nosler and Hornady would certainly sponsor us some tips Im sure, if we buy in bulk :biggrinn:
Now that we sorted this out, off to designing AP airgun slugs. Any takers? Snap turtle season is coming soon.
