Q:

Cricket rifle vs bullpup comparison?

I have a Cricket bullpup in .25 cal. Very accurate, and I’m quite pleased. I’ve been wondering about the Cricket Rifle in standard rifle length and configuration. How do they compare?

I read somewhere that the moderator works better (quieter). Its that true?

Also trigger should be more tunable (?) due to not requiring the long linkage of the bull pup (??)

Also, I’m a lefty. Pics seem to show an ambi stock design(??)

Any comments from those familiar with both guns would be welcome!!

All that I can say is Ernest tuned mine and I have the sweetest trigger, a very crisp 2 oz…………perrrrrrrfect!!! 😛

Zonk

Yes, the rifle is quieter then a BP. I have tuned them side by side. The internals are the same as HW100 LDC.

The trigger is smoother, you can adjust the length of pull of the 1st stage, but the 1st stage tension has no adjustment, I change the spring to get a lighter feel. No adjustment for the 2nd stage release, it don’t need one –has no cheap so it brake right away. You have to separate the two springs –they rub together and you can feel them if you prevent that they are smoother.

With the Cricket rifle you get a longer pcp.

The bullpup trigger can be fine tuned to almost anyone’s needs. The linkage has not shown itself to be a limiting factor. The barrel length of either gun has no bearing on accuracy potential. A 12″ barrel is as accurate as a 24″. Only power can be improved with a longer barrel.

If the rifle has an “ambi” stock, there may be some gain in cheek weld comfort. That has never shown itself to be a deciding factor in accuracy.

There’s no definitive gain. What matters here is what “turns you on” when it comes to shooting. If you have more confidence in a long gun, then you will likely shoot a long gun more accurately than a short gun.

What makes the difference in an average shooter, and a great shooter, is most often between his ears, not the breech and muzzle.
