They have two refurbished models in stock. I don’t hunt but it would be kind of interesting for the “Gee Whiz” factor.
I THINK THE 25 CAL would be the way to go with this one … it has the speed I like .
I had a DAQ .50 and a DAQ .452 around that power level, very effective hunting veapons
Cool, but loud, long and heavy. The repeated function is a good touch, but ammo selection is limited.
If you’re not in a hurry 😛 , a Ranger in .45 would be a more practical hunting tool, shooting 250 gr + Colt .45 bullets. It’s not a repeater, but if it’ll shoot through three pigs, one shot should be plenty.
Mine’s “in the work’s”, with a NC shroud. According to Dan, it’s on the next run of builds. Very happy to hear that! Time to thin the deer herds.
Where does it end? How big is big enough?
I’d rather see high speed performance in boat-tail, poly-tipped, hollowpoint ammo in calibers .25 and 30ish, before I see any need to get huge amounts of lead approaching 1/2″ in diameter. Sonic crack be damned…if a pcp shooter wants performance, give him something with some serious range and impact.
A 4500 psi pressure tube, and a high pressure valve system, would achieve better trajectories and ballistics than lobbing cannon balls at 800 fps. Just my thoughts….
