R3M cocking made easier part 2 Mod.
With all the polishing I have done and posted, I finally found a way to cock the bolt easier then before, woke up dreaming about this and then went to work on 2 R3M.
1st photo is a stock cocking extension piece between cocking bolt and hammer, look at the shape and compare the 2 photo, the 2nd mod shape is smoother (shape like a bullet) then 1st mod.
it evenly distribute the toque so it’s mush more smoother. I was going to ship Zack R3m .25 long this morning, after mod mine I decided to unbox his BP and do the mod on his—-wow glad I did much smoother then smoother then before. so you want it smoother? this is the roughest link in the cocking system and vary easy to mover look, the metal is vary thick so don’t worry about grinding the head off.

there is a rumor that since apparently you found a way to fix the cycling issues of the R3M, ED will take care of all the R3M send to you in order to being fixed? 😯

True; with the R3M it’s easy to stuff 3 pellets in open spots on the mag as it rotates. But given that the mags are wear items in the long run and the spot under the scope rail looks lonely when it’s not completely filled I still want to have 5 of them. 😀
With the fixes & improvements that many of us have done with the R3Ms I wonder what Ed’s “V2” version will look like…

Well worth the few minutes of effort required, I did the initial contouring in the lathe with a file until it “looked right” by eye and then polished it up.
Still loving my R3M (after polishing up all the moving bits & welding up the magazine indexing cam for complete indexing)– but also still waiting for the email from Tony that additional magazines are finally available!
When I asked about extra magazines, he told me late in the year. Now that I have this cricket and 6 magazines, I realize I only need a couple anyway. 🙂
I did the exact same thing to my .25 R3M several weeks ago with the same results– noticeable decrease in cocking effort and much smoother overall.
