Why use such inferior, deteriorating Pellets at all ??

My AF Condor 25 cal likes Polymags @ 880fps, very very accurate even more accurate than Kings up to 40 yards, then Kings takes the prize. My AF Talon 22 cal likes Polymags @ a ridiculous slow speed of 700 fps, but very accurate. Both of witch have LW barrels and I know not directly related to the post, but hope someone could use the info.

The new Metalmags are cool but I’m a bit leery of using it, knowing it has a loose tip that can come off wail in the barrel and maybe cause some damage to it.

I believe, unless you load the metalmags backwards, it would not be possible for a metal tip to come out lodge in the barrel. I wouldn’t worry about that at all.

I just bought some Predator Metalmags to try in the cricket 22. Will post my findings.
This pellet shortage is crazy. I guess the hording will just drive prices through the roof like PB.

I use the Predator Metalmag Pellets, .22 Cal, 17 Grains in my R-3 and they are devastating on ground squirrels.
Only problem is a lot of tips fall out.

.22 Predators don’t work in the .22 magazines. I hand fed about 10 of them through and they didn’t compare to the JSB 18s at even 30 yards with the very limited testing. Ernest made a single shot rotating tray for the .22 Cricket way back when that was pretty cool. I really own no airgun that shoots the .22 Predators well. It’s too bad because the .25 Predators are very accurate in most of my .25 guns.

That’s the thing the 25 cal cricket shoots the Predators great but the 22 suck. Strange.

I will try the metal tip .22 Predators in the Cricket and see if they do any better than the plastic tip. I think they are 1 grain heavier towards the front.

I did not have them in .22 as I thought , only .25’s, sorry :butkick:

I just tried them in the .177 Baby Cricket and the groups at 50 yards were triple the size of the JSB 10.34s at 900 FPS. The Crosman Premiers were a lot better.

I´ll test those Predators in my .25 soon enough. Have only shot a mag of them and they were at least on par with the King´s. Those never worked well on my EdGuns at .22 cal.
Anyone tried them in .177 ? Do they even make them in .17 cal ??

No, so far the only thing I found that shoots well in the BC is JSB 18.1. Everything else looks like a shotgun was used. BCs shooting at 860 fps, while Cricket is at 895 fps per Ernest.
I have only crony BC. To damn cold here to be out side…

Now the Cricket so far likes pretty much everything that I’ve shot through it, even JSB 18.1 grs. So I’ve just been stocking up on them, 40 tins so far…. 😀

I got to figure out this picture thing, it’s bugging me….

Zonk

I’ll test and report back this eve. I have some in stock.

What about jsp pointed 15.89 grain
I tried jsp heavy 18 grain and it was fantastic
Have any one tried the pointed jsp

As much as I favor Polymags I do prefer accuracy over blunt force trauma. JSB 16 grains are more accurate in my Airguns and as you know is the same weight as Polymags. If there is a tread off in accuracy verses speed the outcome (damage) is some what the same, then Polymags will lost that battle. But, if using Polymags are used within 40 yards or so to get within the kill zone then it’s fine, beyond that I’ve yet to be seen.

Not to get off topic but my Airgun collection with LW barrels seem to like Polymags compared to other barrels, if anyone else notice this please chime in.
