My Wish – John Hagan
As many of you know, I’ve been in search of a way to suppress my .25 R3M. Neil has made me a few shrouds and LDC to accomplish this. His latest shroud was a screw on CF that allowed me to tighten it a lot and torque the barrel. However, I don’t know how to drill set screws in it to hold it in place. Although tight, it sometimes would loosen with me carrying it around the house. POI changed, so then comes Ernest and John Hagan who answered my prayers for a way to torque the barrel like the OEM baffle did. Well their solution was simple, use the OEM baffle nut and we’ll just customize a shroud cover that will have a screw off cap to reveal the 1/2 x 20 LDC adapter. I contact John almost everyday but with computers being a new technology to him since Ernest has him locked up in the basement, it took awhile for him to reply. Fast forward to today, I received the baffle cover. Please keep in mind, John did not anodize them to keep cost low but will be looking for a solution to get it to be black like the OEM shroud.

After I took it out, I thought to myself, “he forgot to put the 1/2 x 20 adapter”. The cover is flawless and seamless. I emailed him and said what happened to the 1/2 x 20 adapter. He replied, “go drink some milk and put on some rubber gloves, the cap comes off”. I thought he was lying but after my glass of milk and workout gloves, sure enough, there was a cap! Amazing work, I mean it was seamless and blended in with the rest of the cover.
After adding Neil’s 6 inch LDC, the Overall length of the gun is 37 inches.
I am very happy with this cover, no more worries about knocking the shroud out of place or changes in POI and most importantly, the shroud is free floating like OEM.
My only, suggestion, is that it could be about 1/2 – 3/4 of an inch shorter.

Ok let me help John out and try to clear some things with this cover. I did ask John if he could shorten the cover but he said there’s not much room to shorten it without jeopardizing the strength at the adapter end. He is correct, he made this thing as short as possible and here are some pictures to show it.
With the cap on the overall length of the cover is about 7 inches.
I took a stick and placed it inside the cover and marked it with a sharpie
As you can see, he started the adapter right after the baffles.
So if I placed the stick next to the baffle cover, you can see that the support for the 1/2×20 UNF adapter is about the size of the cap inside the cover.
There’s not much he could do to shorten this thing. Hope that helped 🙂
