Q:

Sling for the Edgun

I have been looking for a comfortable hunting sling for my new Edgun R3M .25 (the gun is a little too carry around on a hike) but I just can’t seem to find

what I want. Specifically, what I have in mind is a sling that can be installed by looping one end through one of the 3 holes in the Edgun’s forearm and looping

the other end around the buttstock. The last thing I want to do is to have to purchase unnecessary components or drill into the stock and void my warranty.

Can any of you refer me to the right sling?

Ask machine gun about that one. The sling pivot screw was the whole reason to y would not take the gun back. He and Ed went back and forth right here on the tag. I sure its still here somewhere. It started in mid/late December. That is how i remember it. A far as stating that there won’t be any reason to return the gun: I surly hole that’s how it goes.

That’s up to Ed to decide if he’ll deduct for a modified stock or not and a decision you will have to make.
I personally didn’t worry about it and wouldn’t if I got another new Edgun. Shoot it and let it break in before doing any mods.
Once you know its a keeper, then keep it and do what you want. My personal opinion on warranties is if you have to worry about needing to use it then you should look at another product.

I don’t expect to use the warranty because the gun is amazing aside from a few minor details; I just like to be on the safe side of things.

Drilling holes in your stock has nothing to do with your warranty unless you crack your stock and then try to claim its a defect.
Pre drill holes and mount sling stud in rear and a picatinny rail up front for double use with bipod.

So if I drill into the stock and a manufacturer defect emerges, can I return the entire gun for a full refund, or will I have to keep the stock?

Yes sir, I understand this is a custom peice. I was just saying I had this exact same idea a few months ago and figured someone had created/brought to market this long ago. I also looked for a sling mount that would just replace one of the buttplate screws, but no luck. A basic one doesn’t stand off enough to work so it would have to be welded to a spacer or something. I just don’t have time to Make anything myself. I’m lucky to get an hour a week to screw around with my gun. Hell. I still haven’t finished the barrel swap I was 85% done with it when the rain came in and I didn’t want to get everything soaked taking it back out to the shop to torque the barrel nut.

Update. While writing this, the dhl guy dropped off the single point harnes. Maybe I’ll have time to finish this stuff up before I have to leave for another 12 hour night shift. Once my work week starts, there is no time for anything. Bathing and eating maybe some sleeping here and there.

Hemn,

I saw your post when I was searching the forum. That method looks pretty good but I don’t have access to the tools needed to make the piece. Maybe I

should buy some nylon webbing and make one…

i am sure Ernest or other guy can help you on this,,,it is just like drinking a cup of tea for Ernest or his poor friend that he is in the basement at present.  ask them,,,
