Freediving and Spearfishing is my other favourite thing to do  Heres a vid from last weekend of myself and a friend spearing Yellowtail Kingfish in 60 meters of crystal clear blue NZ waters..
The beach is about half an hour from my house and the location of this vid is about an hour off shore where a rock rises up from 60 meters to about 18 meters from the surface.. perfect hunting grounds for some big palargics :fishing:
The water was 20 deg C and the air temp was 28 deg C which is still quite warm for the Autumn (Fall) here.. We were hoping to see a late season Marlin but no luck on that one..still went home with a good feed of Kingfish and Tuna..

Brother Phile; that is an awesome vid ,,, very enjoyable,, i see you are not only a good rabbit or bird hunter also a good fish hunter (if it is you) … very nice … see this world is very strange ,,,we are in the middle of the Spring season ,,,and you are in the fall… i know that ,,, in somewhere is night ,,and some other is day ,,,, and the rest of things,,, God made everything very nice ,,, so,,people in this planet will not bother ,,, if you don’t like the winter then you can visit my oily country or sandy deserts in the next 45 dyas or 55 days,,, the temperature will rise up to 50 c in my city not in the deserts … :fishinghole:

i like your place ,,,as i said ,,it is quite suitable for your hobby ,,,just enjoy your life there ,,,

Mostly go for flatties, cuda, sheepshead and various kelp bass. In shore Vis is pretty hit and miss, some days you get 20′ others 2′ when I have time I like to get out to Catalina island then its a whole new ballgame with yellow tail, yellow fin, huge cod and WSB (White Sea Bass).

That is mental mate prob best you tube vid ive watched :8: :4:

Now that looks like fun….

Water temp was around 55 on the surface but get down 40 or 50ft and feels like your balls havent dropped yet, was only wearing my 3mm so saps the heat from you pretty quick, at least freediving you build up body warmth.

Looks real nice IC… What’s the water temp??
