Q:

Camera Mount for Condor

I am new to the board. My Condor SS should be delivered by the middle of the month. Can’t wait. Has anyone mounted a camera on their Condor. I saw a camera mount on Critter Gitter Airguns and I am trying to locate it. It appears that I will have to put a picatinny rail on the rifle. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Thanks for your input. I will probably buy the one on ebay. Time is money…

Here is a link to a pretty secure mount for $10 at lowes.I made one for my scope andit works great.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=edH3epvn_Jc

I just recently did my 1st video with my 1st scopecam setup. I got the one from Florida. I installed it on my Rapid 25. Like nick said above, the scopecam really takes some getting used to and it trully is hard for longer shots. After killing about 4-5 squirrel, i HAPPILY switched back to my tried and true TOP of the scope mounted cam setup. And to be honest and IMHO, the scopecam is great for people who can sit on an elevated bench or windowsill or something thats supported were you have time to take the perfect shot. When i was in the field, the scopecam is HARD to use as it seems every position you get into, you loose site of the game. At least were i hunt, the ground is very uneven and hilly (sp) and the game doesn’t give you much time………….

I do like the scopecam, but still prefer my top of the scope mount. Its quicker and not awkward to use.

Thanks Nick. I have received my gun. Tank is on the way. I have a lot of range time first then I will get into some recording.

I’m currently using this setup, a homemade mount that I’ve used for all my youtube vids. Works perfectly, I like the scopecan but it limits you on reallly long shots and also tedious to setup up perfectly each time.
This pic is of myself making the vid below, it gives you a good idea of how it works.

no, mine is a .25cal :biggrinn:

I love all of the quality accessories you can get for the Airforce air guns. That was one reason for me getting one for my first gun. I really like the stock that you have. I am sure I will end up with one once I get over all of the sticker shock I have just gone through. Need to sell more…. Not familiar with he RL shroud. Will have to look that one up. Is your gun a 22 caliber?

hey youre welcome,

love the condor!

i put it in a mad dog ultima with an R&L shroud and the bsa 4-14×44 first focal plane scope from midway, sweet 🙂

as for the camera mount the seben is definitely adequate,
although i would like something with a bit faster inital setup time,
for when you have to break it down to fit in a case.

i also like the slide on mount that the nitesite ns200 uses, and may try to make something similar.

like i said in my other post,
im trying to figure out a mount using the original shoulder piece since with the mad dog its no longer needed,
but the only problem is the offset tripod mounting hole on my camera,
if the lens was centered over the mounting hole it would be a piece of cake,
so some extra pieces will be needed.

Thanks Starlingassassin: I have been on the computer all morning and came up with that camera mount. I appreciate your input. I will not need it for several weeks but plan on buying one. I also need a lighter weight camera. One thing that I did purchase was the Nite Site Wolf. I plan on doing some night hunting and this night vision system will work well with the Condor or my centerfire hunting rifles. How do you like condor? What power setting are you using and what pellet. I have a lot of work to do to get familiar and proficient with the Condor.

heres what i meant lol

i just use a seben dka2 mount,
it works well if you put a small piece or rubber/neoprene/foam under the knob that screws into the camera to brace it during recoil.

i guess a picture would work better than describing it LOL

since i got my mad dog stock ive been trying to figure out a way to use the stock shoulder piece to make a dedicated camera mount for the condor.
