Matador stock wood type

Ok guys, I thought I knew this one. My matoador r3m wood stock is walnut, right? Well I’m going to get some scraps to practice staining and finishing on and had two choices, black walnut and something else. So, I checked the edgun site and it says

“Stock stock (beech), impregnation-ready stock (walnut), Laminate”

So, is this just a translation issue or does that say the the laminated stock is walnut and the others are beech? I’m just trying to do some color testing (I know it won’t be exaclt). The black walnut sure looks close. I’m still trying to define the stock Color of the matoador but I actually think I’m going to go with more of a Russian red or alkenet root type color. He’ll I don’t know. The butt end of my stock is much darker/redder Than the middle or forarm sections. I’d like to get the whole thing closer to the butt end. Thanks
