Q:

Drooper mount?

Is anyone using a drooper mount on a TSS? Put a temp scope on (Hawke Panorama EV) on my TSS and seem to run out of elevation pretty quick. I gonna put a Sidewinder 30 on it and wondered if I would have the same problem and order a drooper mount at the same time. If so any suggestions? I was looking at UTGs one they suggest you use on a 48/52 T06 trigger

Thanks for
the data. I needed the info to go forward with a project.

Onside,
That is the same mount I have used.

I ended up using the above drooper mount from UTG. It works really well with minimum elevation adjustment needed with my scope

I have all my scopes mounted in Weaver style rings and purchased a UTG droop base with dovetail/weaver conversion. Works well for me.

I stumbled on an “adjustable” drooper mount. I mounted a UTG dovetail to picatinny adapter on my Talon to make it easier to swap out scopes. I went from the tall AF dovetail scope rings to med QR on my AF 4-16 scope. That threw everything out of whack. Couldn’t get enough elevation out of the scope. While putzing with the setup I noticed the stop pin on the picatinny adapter. The pin is meant to go in a hole in springers to prevent recoil from moving the adapter. I found if I loosened the set screws that hold the adapter and tighten the stop pin a tiny bit I was able to zero the scope without problem.

There is enough play on the dove tail clamp to allow the rear of the adapter raise with out losing grip on the dovetail. If you try this remember that a little adjustment goes a long ways and be sure to double check that the rear of the adapter is firmly clamped to the dove tail. Also double check to make sure the scope is still level with the gun.

Sun Optics also makes adjustable rings for a reasonable price. Can be found on Amazon.

Here is a link to their site: http://sunopticsusa.com/mounting-systems/airgun-rings/adjustable-airgun-rings-airgun-ringbase-combos/

Hawke makes a couple of adapters that are adjustable. Go to Pyramyd Air and check them out. I think they also have some adjustable rings.

FX now makes a set of adjustable rings. Airguns of Arizona has them.

Burris signature Zee Rings has inserts that allow for windage and elevation adjustment. Midway had them on sale last week.

Holy cow those Sportmatch ring are exspensive! I sure they work but my pockets arent that deep. Think Im gonna try the UTG with a set of medium rings as a starting point

I have Sportsmatch adjustable 30mm rings on my Talon SS with a Hawke Sidewinder 30. I wont use anything else from now on. They are expensive but worth every penny in my opinion. When sighting in I center my scope adjustments then sight in with the mounts, giving me full turret range for dialing in distance/windage. I also have the 1″ version on my MRod. They have never lost zero, and I even carry my Talon by the scope sometimes.

Mac 1 sells rings with MOA cut into them. I run 50 min highs on .257 and .308 for shooting distance.

On .25 that shoots pellets I have 30 highs. Scope is almost centered in adjustment at 50 yds.
