Q:

Do you have to remove the manometer and fill probe?

I was wondering if you have to remove the gauge and fill probe to unscrew the valve from the cylinder?

If you use just a rod you will most likely ruin the valve body. If you don’t use the tool you will egg out the hole and probably not get the valve out. They are tuff the first time and after that you can use a rod

i would because you have to torch the tank to loosen the glue shit they use you dont want to damage you gauge or the check valve in the fill nipple

Thanks, I have some 5/16 rod, somehow I got it into my head that I had to remove the gauge and fill probe before unscrewing the valve from the tank. I think I mixed up the TTTA video and the Convert Spin-Loc tank to normal tank video.

I do to use a tool to remove the valve from the tank. The tool goes around the valve and a bolt screws into the smooth hole to lock it to the valve.
The valves are hard to remove the first time. After that I just hand tighten them
