Q:

Tophat issues?

Hey guys, I’m having a bit of problems with my top hat now. I over tightened the 2 set screws and can obviously see in the top hat opening the dents it made. Now it seems I can’t make adjustment’s with it? As I turn it CW and CCW, it doesn’t move in or out. The only way is to pop it out with 2 screw drivers. Am I screwed until I get a TT TH? It seems it’s stuck in place and no adjustment’s can be made whilst attached to the tank but yet spins still 😕

Which brings up another question. My Top Hat spins after each shot too. Just a tiny bit.It seems to settle in one spot after a dozen shots or so?

Hopefully I made sense and any help appreciated!

I didn’t know what you were talking about when you called itba QCTH.LOL
I have one on my condor and it works great, definitely worth the money.

Alright thanks for the info. I have definitely damaged it to hell. Can’t get the top hat to budge. I am planning on either a couple oem ones or the QCTH. Don’t know yet. I like the fine tuning ability of the oem ones but the quality/durability of the QCTH’s. Tough choice. I shoot Cuda’s in the low 900’s with PW at 1/1. Would a QCTH be able to give me similar results without cranking up the PW (wear out the spring quicker)?

Seems like you damaged the valve stem by over tightening.
You can remove the top hat, stem and remove the set screws.
Insert and allen wrench in the ports for leverage and see if you can get the top hat to rotate.

If too far gone, I sell high flow top hat /stems cheap but the best is to go with the QCTH.
Hope this helps.
Tony
