The steyr match trigger is super.
The barrel is good till 50m.

Yesterday at the edgun day I got to try some new short R3M ‘s,
there was nothing wrong with the barrels at 100m.
Maybe the later type of barrels are less fusy, I do not know.
JSB pellets straight out of the tin, not sure if they were 16’s or 18’s.

Regards, Robert.

say “The .22 Edgun has more power.. mine is tuned to shoot 18gr pellets to 915fps. The Steyr will only shoot a lighter 16gr pellet to the max of 890fps”

in that page you will read “energy up to 40 joule”

lets make some calculation

visit this site https://billstclair.com/energy.html
and if you put the pellet weight = 16 grain
and the velocity = 910 fps
then you will get energy up to 40 joule as what company say 😕

but in real practical it’s difference ….. why this happen ❓

The 40 joule can be achieved with heavier pellets, eg: 18.13gr JSBs at 850fps gives you 40joule.
Im sure with altering the reg and hammer spring I could get it to shoot hotter but from the factory set up and the hammer spring maxed out mine will only shoot a 15.89gr JSB to 890fps.

i find this video in YouTube about “Steyr hunting 5 Automatic”

damm :5: is there any one see person like this do what this man do in second 3:08

that’s what make me ask about Steyr

but the Edgun will out shoot the Steyr at longer ranges.

So, I didn’t waist time and money, making hundreds of test with diffrent barrels I’ve ordered from LW, glad to hear it 🙂

Nope.. money and time well spent.. I do notice that your barrels are very pellet fussy though.. They really only shoot the 18.13 gr JSBs well and the head size really matters.
The Steyr is fitted with the std 12 groove 1-17.5″ twist choked L/W barrel and it seems to shoot nearly all quality domed .22 pellets well to 50 meters and is not head size fussy..

Still my Matador is my “go to” long range pcp as I know for a fact that my Steyr cant send an 18gr pellet out past 120m+ while still delivering good energy and consistantly head shoot rabbits at that range like the Matador does 😎

Ed,,, then i am also happy to have one of your great rifles ,,, three weeks ago,,i went to picnic with my family all ,,, i could easily shoot (estimated) + 250 meters quite easily ,,, there are some crows far away from us on the Hills and trees,,, i shot them but because of the strong winds i couldn’t find my hit point,,, that made me happy so much,,,

I own both the Edgun and the Steyr H110 hunting and the are both nice pcps.
The .22 Edgun has more power.. mine is tuned to shoot 18gr pellets to 915fps. The Steyr will only shoot a lighter 16gr pellet to the max of 890fps. Both are very accurate out to 100 meters but the Edgun will out shoot the Steyr at longer ranges.
For hunting I much prefer my Edgun as its lighter and easy to carry as its short. The Steyr is very loud so needs a suppressor which makes it even longer.
Both will do the job but my preference will always be the Matador.

i totally agree with you brother Charlie… short rifles are more comfortable in hunting…. this is true,,,

For me, Matador is for hunting, Steyr is for bench rest target shooting. I like both.

can we say they have the same power and accuracy
just different in weight and shape and there is no moderator in Steyr

thank you very much Mr.Hemn

Hi brother Haider,,, Welcome to Talon Forum,,, and i am happy to find you here,,,

Yes,,, most hunters have a bad Turkish shotguns and Turkish air rifles,,, this is correct,,, PCP is really new toy in Iraq ,,, you have to be careful and use correct cleaning items for it,,,,

I have Edgun for almost 8 months and satisfy with it,,, the power was overkill for me,,,i recently changed the regulator of my edgun to lower power,,, and still no time to check,,, 😀 ….. for the accuracy you can check my thread and see targets/pics,,,

i don’t have any steyr ,,,but as i read topics ,,,they are very very good and accurate PCP,,, and if i am not wrong they don’t need any mod ,,,, but they are very loud,,, that is what you don’t care of it,,,

i prefer you to ask Mr. Naser from UAE who own both guns.,,,

Thanks …
