Cricket .20 LW barrel mod testing–> group, shot count
Love .20 cal so I need one on a cricket. Mounted the barrel on a test rig with compact air tube with the reg set at 115b with lighter VS and a test action to installed proper size probe with medium strength HS. Have another .20 at only 13″ long, shot at only 800fps just changing the barrel, so I need to do some mod and get the speed around 880fps then shoot a group. Have 3 more .20 cal barrel coming one of then is going to be 23″ so if you want a conversion .20 kit that come with 2 mags and .20 probe let me know, have two available in any length and can thread the muzzle to stock threads so you can use your stock shroud.
Test Spec Rig:
17″ barrel
1/2″ 20 threads at the muzzle, HW LDC
AOL 29″ with LDC
14 shot mag, used a .177 mag and bore and polish pellet slots
compact air tube
fill cap dust cover has need removed for fast filling.
Fill pressure 205B
End pressure 110B
Pellet: JSB 13.7g

Here is a photo of her permanent setup, got her shooting 13.7g to 910fps without loosing accuracy. Has a flatter flight then .22 and notice the .20 buck the wind just as good. The .177 on a windy say–forget about it. The place I shoot the most I need to be quite with the impact of the pellet–where the 35fpe .22 is to load so the .20 is perfect at 25fpe in the city it’s perfect with the HW it’s quieter then the stock shroud.
Does the 20 cal. offer better accuracy than a tuned 177 or 22 in your opinion. Anything smaller than 22 worries me with respect to wind tolerance.

The .20 isn’t much more wind sensitive compared to a .22. Use JSB 13+ gr at 275-280 mps and you’ll be amazed over the performance.

The 20 LW in .470 is what I built into my Marauder FT rifle. It shoots just like yours..:) I should get one for a spare. Mine is full, maximum blank length and I had Jim G modify a .22 bolt to run 20 cal. That is one of my favourite rifles. 65 shots on a 3k fill with a stock Marauder airtube( well, almost stock; I had to poke a reg vent hole in it).

I´m a huge Fan of that marvellous little caliber myself so i got all excited about it when you mentioned you´re in a process of building one. If you ever decide to offer a kit for conversion (either for .177 or .22) i´ll buy one in a heartbeat. A .20 cal Cricket is what i need now !
