More Problems with New Talon SS

Just bought a new Talon SS in April. Out of the box the trigger and safety ha a dry metal squeak. Then I found that the fill nipple on the air tank was loose and leaking air. Next a few screws came loose, including one on the blade of the safety. Instead of shipping it back to Pyramyd Air, I sent it Air Force to have them tune it up and check it over. After three weeks, I got it back yesterday and immediately started shooting it.

This morning after about a hundred rounds the safety locked up and will not release. I’m fairly adept at working on guns, so I thought I’d take a look at the trigger mechanism. I got it apart as far as the safety and found that the two tiny screws had been gorilla tightened at the Air Force repair facility. I’m worried about buggering the screws .

My questions are: Has anybody else a similar problem with the new style safety and how did you fix it? Any suggestions as how to “de-gorillaize” the two screws? Should I let Frustration get the best of me and trade the Talon in for a Marauder?

I would do as Adam says. Those small cap screws strip easy, you might need to heat them up before you try loosening up.

Make sure the breech is in full rearward position before trying safety but I have a feeling that the small lever that activates the auto safety is out of position.

Good luck, Tony

Call Airforce and give them hell.

It is a new gun and they need to make you happy.
