Easy fix for a perplexing problem.

Took my Talon to the local indoor range last week to get it on paper after a complete disassemble,cleaning and addition of new breech. I also replaced scope mounts to lower scope. After about 10shots I had it drilling JSB’s into the same hole at 25yards. I had it dialed in a little high at 25 because I like it to be right on at 50. I left the range very happy with the results!
The gun is a pre 2013 Talon in .25 with an 18″ barrel, R&L shroud,Condor bottle with high flow valve and striker weight, T.T. Quick change top hat,and fully polished frame and barrel.
So all is great till I install a “Gun Skins” wrap on the gun. I go to shoot the gun and have NO POWER! My first thought was that I damaged or dried something out while setting the skin with the blow drier. I dis-assembled the action and cleaned and lubed everything and still had the problem. The only way I could get a pellet to fly was to remove the restrictor from the top hat and crank up the power wheel all the way! This is where I started pulling out the rest of my thinning hair.
Turns out the problem was staring me right in the face the whole time.
When I wrapped the gun, I bent the retainer tab on the spin lock collar forward to get the wrap under it and never bent it back. Upon finishing the wrap I noticed that the bottle was just a little loose. No big dead, just tighten it. When I tightened it down,it must have sucked the spin lock collar back into the frame. Well, guess what? With the bottle not pulled fully forward, the valve was not opening completely when the top hat was being struck by the
breech upon firing.
All I had to do was straighten out the tab on the spin lock collar and problem solved!
I hope this “lesson learned” will help out other members if they ever run into this problem!
