Q:

Matador R3 v/s Pigeon

In the last couple of days Ive had the cows in the field close to my house which brings loads of grain steeling pigeons…
I shot quite a few through the week at 50-75 yards but today I wish I took the time to set up the scope cam.. My R3 is freshly serviced and tuned and I gave the bore a good polish.. without even re zeroing I ranged a pigeon at 159 yards, with light wind and rain I took a shot of the bipod and once again the matador puts a smile on my face..
A direct hit to its full crop.. even at this range there was plenty of energy to smash through the full crop of maize and hit the vitals which dropped it on the spot.. :8:

Wow, 159 it must be the record for Matador .22 at such long range with a clean shot on pigeon. :8:
How much FPE on the pigeon? seems a lot of damage.

Its not a personal record.. I have shot many out further.. my personal record is 204 meters on a Hare.. 1 shot kill! :8:  http://nzairgun.com/forum/index.php?topic=298.60
This pigeon ate 11.5ftlbs at that range, amount the same as a UK tuned PCP has at the muzzle!
The damage looks worse than it was as I exposed the crop to show the maize and the blood spread due to the rain..
