parallax scale not close
I just picked up a BSA 4-14×44 FFP scope from MidwayUSA.
Got it mounted on my Marauder while I wait for Condor SS 25’s to come back in stock, then it will go on that. Looks and feels like a good scope and the zero stays put. One thing though. The distance scale on the side focus is off. When focused at 50yds, the scale reads 75. I think 20 yds reads like 35. I know that lots of times the numbers don’t match up but is this too much of a mismatch? If so I’ll probably send it back and try another.

Some scopes with fixed parallax can be adjusted by turning the front lens retaining ring. Perhaps you can do such with this scope to make the focus match up with the markings.
Yes, I think that would be true. I don’t expect $2K quality from budget scopes. I have to say though that I have a Hawke Airmax 9-12×40 and a Leapers Tactical 4-16×56 that are both sub $200.00 scopes and both are dead on the money on the focus wheel. This MidwayUSA/BSA scope was $250.00
This “BSA” cannot be found on their website.
It’s claimed to be the same exact scope as the Falcon Menace, and Primary Arms though some slight differences are reported. Hmmm, Maybe. Some reviewers say that it’s much better than any other BSA “junk” they’ve tried. I’d say that the glass in this BSA is better than in my Leapers Tactical. Sharper, crisper, snaps into focus better. More like the glass in the Hawke. Maybe it will ultimately be a decent scope.
Talked with Midway and they are sending a new one and will pay for return shipping. They were very friendly to deal with.
If it works out I’ll report back…and if it doesn’t I’ll report back and tell folks to steer clear.
That seems to be very common especially with budget optics. If it bothers you make a yardage tape that is accurate to the actual distance.

Quick follow up:
I sent the scope back to MidwayUSA and they sent out another. This one shows promise. Parallax is MUCH better. Need to spend a bit more time with it before i can say anything else…but it has nice bright sharp optics.
