Q:

Need New Scope for Talon SS – Suggestions

All,

My Nikon scope’s elevation broke yesterday and will return it for repair. I am considering purchasing a different scope, perhaps one of the following and would like your suggestions on these or others within the same price range with AO:

UTG 30mmAccuShot 4-16×44 IE Scope with SWAT AO Mil-dot, 36 Colors EZ-TAP, MS Rings
Hawke Sport Optics HD IR 4-12×50 AO Rifle Scope, Ill. Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube
Hawke Sport Optics Airmax EV 4-12×40 AO Rifle Scope, Map 6 Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube
CenterPoint Optics 4-16×40 AO Adventure Class Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube, See-Thru Weaver Rings

I do wear eyeglasses, so adjustable eyepiece is necessary. Also, would appreciate suggestions about scope mounts for installation of scope on the Talon SS.

I owned the Hawke 4-12X40, and it was a good scope, but the dots were too large for fine paper punching. I have read other reviewers that said the same. It’s fine for hunting though. I have a Vortex 4-12X40 Diamondback A0 that is really nice. Very clear optics.

Just my two cents,

Don

I like my MTC Mamba lite it’s a good value for the price with crystal clear optics, mounted with BKL ….. … . $309.00 with free shipping in USA !

I would stay away from the Centerpoint. I have a compact SWAT UTG and like it, but the long one has better optics. The side focus is real nice. Many like Hawke.

As far as mounts, I would recommend adjustable. Good mounts are expensive, but worth it.
