Regulator Washers Configuration
While I wait for Ed to ship me my replacement breech I going to strip the regulator down on my R3M and give it a clean and polish, before I do can anyone tell me the configuation the washers in the regulator should be as their bound to fall out as I take it all apart, are they like this or something different:

Do you have any proof that the reg is causing the accuracy issue? In example, crazy Chrony results or shot groups that show mostly vertical deviations? Normaly I wouldn’t start with the regulator as the first suspect unless there is a history of it being an issue or it only starting misbehaving after I had the reg apart.
I’m no expert on the edgun but I would start by checking that the barrle shroud isn’t touching anything. I know there have been a few people that have found the barrle wasn’t positioned properly after they removed the stock. This is because the stock helps to push the bottom of the front clamp into the air cylinder, which pushes the barrle upwards and away from everything else.
If I was you, I would get the grease repalced and put everything back together in original configuration for now and work on the accuracy issue. Even if the reg is the problem, you don’t want it modified for now. I don’t know Eds policy, but I wouldn’t warranty anything that had been modified. When Ernest is working a reg, I think he is doing everything he can to give his customers as much as he can for what he charges them. He is “blueprinting” or hotroding them. Plus he knows what he is doing. I don’t think that polishing the spring washers is realy going to do that much for you right now. The edgun regulator is considered the best (or one of them) in the industry, if it really needed to be polished to perform well, it would have been done before it was built. Polishing a bunch od washers at a factory is simple and cheap. You just throw them in a giant vibrating bucket with the right Media and like magic, you have 1000 regulators worth of washers polished. Simple in mass production, a major pain in the ass for one guy doing one reg.
If there is something wrong with the reg you need to give Ed the chance to make it right and also get the bad parts back so he can see what went wrong. I once worked for a company there %90 of our mufflers were defective, but we never knew it cause everyone pulled them off and replaced them with louder pipes. When we broke stuff in testing, it was blamed on the duty cycle and written off. A few years later when they decided loud pipes were a bad thing for the industry, we were screwed. Because we never got any feedback from the customers and never got any failed parts back from the dealers. We weren’t ready for the mass failure rate coming. We actually had to give everyone the same pipes we didn’t want them using anymore for free. So the only thing that changed was that we were paying for all of them. Well, that’s a littl off track.
If your having accuracy isues I wouldn’t modify anyting until you know what’s wrong. Your more likely to cause a second issue and never know if you got the first issue taken care of.
