Review for Donny’s shroud for my .25 R3 Long

I received my shroud from Donny yesterday. Had to wait until this morning to install it. I used the blue painters tape at both ends and the middle of the OEM shroud. I put 4 – 2″ strips on top of each other at each location. The shroud slipped on easily and was nice and snug. I tightened the set screw only enough so the shroud wouldn’t move forward when I tried to slide it. I didn’t have to tighten it very much and with 4 layers of tape, there is no chance of the set screw touching or scratching the OEM shroud. Took the Edgun outside and fired it. Oh oh, something is wrong. It didn’t seem like the pellet left the barrel. Looked and there was no pellet. Fired again and the same thing. I was shooting straight out into an open field so I had no idea where the pellet was hitting. I loaded another pellet and aimed at an oak tree. Saw the pellet hit and tear of a big piece of bark. Now I realized nothing was wrong but Donny’s shroud is stupid quiet. The first two shots were so quiet, I didn’t think the pellet was being expelled from the gun as it sounded like the Edgun was broken. Donny’s shroud is amazing. The shroud extends 7 3/4″ past the air gauge, not a big deal for me. I can’t believe how quiet it is now. Thanks Donny for all your hard work.

Thank you Barry for the review. I had my fingers crossed on this one because I didn’t have a .25 R3 Long to play with. Basically went by your measurements. Just wanted to make clear to others that while the shroud mod quiets down the muzzle blast, it does not lower the hammer slap. Unless you tune down your gun to the low 800’s or 700’s, at 880-900+ you’ll definitely hear the slap. If you plan to shoot this from inside the house, it will be a bit louder because of the echo. Try shooting outside and you’ll notice the difference. I know a lot of people already know about the hammer slap but just a reminder for the new ones like me once who thought the muzzle blast was loud but in actuality it was the hammer.

You know what time it is?????

Whatever happened to this guy?
