Q:

Fill probe sucks

It leaks actually. The 2nd (rear) o-ring slot is cut too deep, it never sealed very well and now it just spews no matter what.

Is there a next size up o-ring that works?

Adjust the reg for more puff. You truly should’ve known…
You could also try running faster or you could use either a bicycle or a moped to obtain those missing feet of velocity.

I can only squeeze 875 fps, using 21.1gr Barracudas, and obtaining 35 fpe at the muzzle, from my Standard .22 Cricket.

I can’t get that rascal to shoot 900 fps no matter how hard I try. I even tried running toward the chrony as I fired, but I still couldn’t get another 25 fps out of it!!!

What am I doing wrong? Should I use a stronger HST spring?

Puzzled and senile,

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:

And so he does. His kit is complete and has enough o-rings to last a lifetime. Better quality than OEM although so are most of the rubber bands sold.

Ernest Rowe sells an 84 o-ring kit in a hard plastic case. The rings are better quality nitrile than oem and a higher durometer. I’m not sure how many o-rings are in the Cricket but I think it’s enough to completely change them all out several times or lifetimes. I ordered a hammer spring tension adjuster from him too.

IIRC you had yours sent to Ernest for a full tune and I think he replaces all in the gun with the tune.

What whole replacement kit is this?
Never heard of it, ?

No fear! Liquid handsoap is an inert liquid, primarily an emulsifying agent that breaks down fats, and does no harm to your gun. Simply mix a weak solution, just four or five drops, in a cup of water, and use a Q-tip to wet the suspect part. The bubbles will tell the tale. It only takes a few drops to get the job done and results are immediately apparent.

Dishwashing liquids may contain harsh detergents which are much harsher chemicals, but I still doubt it would cause any harm if wiped off after usage.

Put enough Teflon tape in the oring groove to seal like HOOT said. next size oring is to big. there was a batch around with over cut grooves if under 4.00 mm it will leak over 180 bars or so.

Sound advice Sir Ville.

Don´t walk to the phone – run !
And FYI : Uncle Hoot: always suggest the use of Teflon. For everything. He´s the Teflon Don of TAG, among many other weird things. :suprisedn:

quote Hoot:

To get by for one…wrap a few coils of Teflon tape over the groove, replace the o-ring over the taped groove, and it will fill ok!
