I sent a scope back to them when the sealing o-ring on the ocular worked itself out and they sent me a brand new scope. No questions asked. They’ll either clean it or send a new one. There should be no dirt what so ever inside the scope. It’s a sealed nitrogen filled system.

If that dirt is inside the scope, and you just bought it, you should contact Hawke by phone or their website. They stand behind their products. I bet they will take care of you, they have me. I have a regular Sidewinder 30 and its my favorite scope. Something is screwy with that though, you can see the lines and ranging bars are all distorted, and that is a etched glass reticle. Did you take anything apart on the scope? I see there is a can of spray lubricant in the pic, I think the sidewinder is sealed up pretty good but if that was sprayed on the turrets dont know if it could find its way into the scope through there.
Was the scope ok when you got it? Did anything happen just before you noticed the problem?

Is the reticle rotated or just the camera angle? I’m not sure. Is the outside of the lens dirty or something inside, close to the reticle? Are those reticles etched glass or wire?
