POI much higher after the R3M kit installed
So after i installed the R3M Kit my POI went up quite a bit to the point that I had to put 4 pieces of coke can (shims) under the front of the scope because my scope would not raise the recticle high enough with out them.
I’m not to concerned about it cuz the thing is shooting so good. Just wondering if anyone can shed some ideas as to what might have changed. Is this a common trait for the R3M’s the breech doesnt seem to be any higher then the R3, and the space between the air resovour and the shroud looks the same. I havent chrony’ed it yet to see if the FPS changed, but like i shoot it Sat and at 70 yds was shooting quarter sized groups.
I bought a new scope (Hawke Sidewinder 30 6-24×56) and used the same 4 shims. I still had to raise the recticles a little from how it came from the factory to get it zeroed.

different barrel nut torques and rear shroud orientation can change POI a lot.. try loosening the barrel torque nut and turn the rear shroud tube a 1/8 to a 1/4 turn at a time and re torqe the barrel nut then test on paper.. you will find it shoots different every time.. set it at the lowest POI.
